Asphalt Jungle - Junglization - 28-Oct-09 09:32 AM
In my opinion, of course...This is just terrible cheap garbage some white middle class 40 year old guitar happy Alan Holdsworth fanboi would just love. Not only is it overly progressive and mulled over technically, but the producers of this don't even know what they were doing in this genre. I am being quite harsh because I know nothing of Asphalt Jungle, but just listening to these fools imitate cheap DNB and add like a bagillion textures, samples, and pads over them with their masturbatory guitar wankery / melodic key tones makes me want to bash my face into a wall. For someone who calls himself "Jungleboy" he doesn't know a thing about Jungle and for someone who calls himself "Beatmaster" he sure knows how to ripoff just about every DNB producer from 1994 - 2000. Sounds like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani got together and played some keys and pads with some bass strings, samplers, and some guitar wankery. Somewhere along the line, Ed Rush gave them 3 DNB loops and they over used them. If I could compare this to something. It would be like listening to a cheap DNB version of the Mortal Combat theme, constructed out of nothing but preset bass lines, leads, and two aging white guys with shaved heads and a jam packed studio full of equipment they aren't using right. I make more hardcore beats and tracks with VST's and 4 square feet of space.

I'm not quite sure how to start out writing this review, as I have absolutely no sympathy or appreciation for this 12". The production is cheap, there is virtually no creativity, and the constant over used James Bond sound samples are ear wrenching and actually push me to want to melt this 12" down, therefore leaving no else having to hear this basic drum and bass garbage. It is extremely irritating to listen to something so repetitive and void of artistic creativity. I have heard more creativity from DJ Tron...

I absolutely detest this 12" and have no idea why I ever desired to purchase it. It was 2002, I could understand if it were 1992 - 1995, however....No, this is garbage. Uncreative, unimaginative, thrown together in probably an hour tops. Yuck!
