Profile: I am a poor person who buys the odd bit of vinyl despite not having access to a deck to play them on.

I've found that when your collecting techno, stuff is only in the shops for a month or two then it's gone into the realms of obscurity and is a fucker to find.

Therefore I buy the odd bit of vinyl I really like knowing that one day when I get myself a pair of technics (all praise be) I'll at least have some good tunes to bang out to learn mixing on.

Tube Jerk - 04-Sep-04 01:50 AM
Tube Jerk is just... Without a doubt one of the most distinctive techno producers kicking about. Everything he produces has that distinctive tint to everythign about it which just shouts from the rafters "Tube Jerk was ere"

His first album on Ill, Fold, shows of the mans phenomenal skills at production. Eight is one of the all time classic tracks, in no way hard mean and nasty its a subltle twisting of beautful beats into a very subliminal track widely considered one of the best techno tracks to have ever been produced.

The second album on the legendary Sativa brings forward the club ethos of some tracks, rhythmic beats combined with the deep dubby bass grooves made this album a fast selling wonky hit showcasing all the best of Tube Jerks stuff.

As well as his album releases hes had a few tracks out on Novamute under his Time Wright moniker relasing a few tracks that have been played ot death in the wonky circles, tracks like The Walk and The Lunge going down very well.

Tube Jerk has also done a number of remixes, most noticeably his remix of Cristian Vogels Whipaspank, a stunning mix which really kicks off the whole Tube Jerk ethos for the uninitiated.

Various - Shitmat and Friends Present The Mashcore Malisha E.P. - 22-Jul-04 06:35 AM
Welcome to... The bizzare land of gabba/hardcore/80s/rave cheese and other general nonsense.

All the tracks from this EP are excellent sludges of mentalism, the title of the tracks should give it away that this is one EP that isnt taking itself too seriously. Its all about having a giggle and making some noise.

Many of the tracks are themed taking a sample of something from the past and reworking it into a veritable gabbtastic funk. Its quite amusing to hear stuff like Old Sharky and Hixxy stuff sampled into a hardcore track!

Tomas Nordström - Dist Of Fury EP - 11-Apr-03 02:22 PM
Nordstrom is one of the new emerging Sweidsh artists breaking that image of the Drumcode stlyings. The Dist of Fury EP presents some of his best work to date, snare and bass driven techno is definately the descriptive image here.

Presenting a more indsutrial and aggresive sounding noise these tunes really are very loud and in your face, lots of odd noises and twists thrown in to keep it sounding interesting and the tracks to some extend wander about not scared to follow their own themes for a bit, breaking the pace before coming back in with thundering basslines.

There is a bonus track on this release in the form of a pure electro track that could have been easily written on a C-64 and sounds like it should have featured as the music for a coomputer game from that early 90s.

Johannes Heil - Paranoid Dancer - 15-Aug-02 09:05 AM
I first heard this track at the end of April 2002. It was in a club where I had for the first time in my life consumed acid, lots of acid. Needless to say this was one of the tracks that made me go find my friends to make the voices go away!

Robert Leiner / Adam Beyer & Henrik B - Tracker II / Two B 30 - 07-Aug-02 11:49 AM
The Robert Leiner track is a bit of a disapointer in my head and really doesnt stand out from the crowd much. The Beyer + Henrik tune on the other hand is a nice dance floor tune with nice tough feeling and solid beats.
