Profile: I discovered punk when I was 13, startet my own tape label (Graf Haufen Tapes) when I was 14, releasing music of my own and friends. In 1981 I started publishing "Die Katastrophe", the first tape-review fanzine of Germany. Later I also distributed other peoples tapes and expanded the label rooster internationally. In 1982 my musical tapes shifted more towards experimental music, noise and hardcore electronics. It all came to an end in 1985, when I stopped my label and turned more towards visual art, opening an apartment gallery and working with a professional gallery for two years.
In 1987 I turned towards electronic dance music, with Hip House and Acid developing. Techno, house and ambient became my main diet for the next 12 years. I co-owned a techno/electronic dance music store in Berlin for a few years until it went bankrupt, always providing me with the best the genre had to offer.
As I always listened to various other genre of music (apart from mainstream - that never interested me), I developed a fondness for bar jazz and exotica in the later 1990s. Singer-/Songwriter and intelligent indie pop and rock music are a huge part of my collection too.
After attending concerts by Earth and later Sunn O))) a new door was opened for me.
Doom, black metal, white metal, sludge, screamo and a lot of experimental music gave me new kicks.

Music will always be my first love.
I own and operate a video and dvd rental store for unusual and aquired taste for the last 24 years. Mostly I work the office, so I basically listen to music while I'm working for at least 12 hours a day.
I'm always hungry for more...
Will it ever stop?

Ghetto B-Boyz - Live At Supersupersuper 005 - 04-Aug-09 04:49 PM
First I thought this to be cool old school type acid, before I realized that basically everything is just sampled more or less cleverly from classic records of that time, including but not limited to Sleezy D. and other HUGE classics from Trax Records.
Thats not enough in my book: It is pleasant to listen too, but not very original.
At least the listener can decide whether to pay for the release via iTunes and co. or to simply download it from the label website.

Seconds In Formaldehyde - Suchness - 10-Oct-08 04:43 AM
The music is both melancholic and trance inducing and puts me in a special mood. As comparisons I would state Aidan Baker and Fear Falls Burning. All sounds are created with guitar only - which is amazing.

now the BUT-part:
The CD contains a long continuous track, but during duplication, they managed to separate the three parts of the composition. Between each track theres a 1 second pause, that completely destroys the feeling when listening to this beautiful piece of music. Shame on the label for not listening to the finished product before shipping it, otherwise they probably would have gone back to the duplication company and have the CD redone.
The way this is now, Im afraid, this release is completely useless.

Shellac - 1994 Peel Sessions - 07-May-08 06:14 AM
The musical quality of the recordings of Steve Albini and co. is without a doubt great in any instance. Most of the group consists of sound engineers and producers, so their aim for a special and specific sound design is essential to them. This is why Shellac sounds like Shellac and not like any other band. Unfortunately nothing is to be felt on this release, as the sound quality of this bootleg is pretty terrible. Only for collectors.

IHVHLXXII - Dtxenioutha - 28-Mar-08 08:47 AM
Really intense dark ambient by the australian composer Saaroth, who published the same material in his native country unter the name of COCYTUS on Ekishnugal Records (EKR II). It remains a mystery, why the name IHVHLXXII was used for this release, as this was credited before to a chinese musician. Then again Saaroth also used the name ARTEMIS (9) and ALLAXUL for other releases. In any case, check it out if you can, its a brilliant release full of athmosphere and tension.

Velvet Cacoon - Genevieve - 28-Aug-07 10:38 PM
A marvelous black metal gem with haunting frequencies and dark growls, whispered lyrics and frightning breaks. Shame though, that the individual tracks are so short. Also for maximum effect, the tracks (at least some of them) should have ended with a clear cut, rather than being faded out. But these are minor issues, the whole package is frightningly great.
