Nor Elle - T A X I - 01-Nov-08 05:37 AM
"T a x i" is the 4th album of nor elle aka Terry Lee Brown Junior. After "Phantom Of Life" (1998), "Slapstick" (2001) and "Kombologi" (2006) nor elle defines his own borders of down beat and lounge once again. Concentrating on wide scapes reduced melodic insinuation this time, the album seems to work as a screen. Like a movie without dialoque or a documentary without comments the music gives room for own imaginations and projections. Creating an atmosphere of a nocturnally taxi ride Terry gives a theme, but the rest is up to the listener. Where the taxi drives, how fast or slow, wether the driver is a good or bad one may depend on the mood of the one who to dives into the calm and fantastic world of these wonderful narrative tracks. No instruction is included but leaning back and letting fantasy fly over a warm street at a coast, through a forest or the centre of an illuminated city. With this album Nor Elle created a masterpiece of emotionally charged music with the right instinct for great room effects and innovative sounddesign.

Jesus Gonsev - Next To Me - 04-Aug-08 11:00 AM
Before anything let us just say that we find ourselves before one of the most revolutionary artists for deep house in Spain, his name, Jesús Gonsev from Cuidad Real. The manchego native rounds out the tenth vinyl release of House Cafe Music with a definitive American sound from the early 90s. The future of this artist looks bright as he is poised to release more records on Soul Cafe Music from South Africa and Gotta Keep Faith Records . Next to Me, the title track of this EP brings memories of the productions of Steve Bug or Gamat 3000 from the Dessous glory days, lots of groove with simple elements which make it both mixab le and danceable.
So Deep, has already garnered the attention of house legends such as Larry Heard and Ame, who have already included this track in their sessions. So Deep has been wildly successful with online sales, making it our number one digital release.. and for good reason! So Deep is simply pure deep.
Terry Lee Brown Jr. - Terry's Café 5 - 19-Jul-08 04:25 AM
Terry Lee Brown Jr., already known as a passionate and dedicated DJ and producer, celebrates the opening of his 5th Terry´s Café branch: 'Deep Section'. The menue is full of classics, brandnew creations and a whole lot of exotic flavours – with beats black as coffee and vocals sweet as cream. Following his motto ‚Never change a running system’, one of Plastic City´s finest artists presents the 5th part of his DJ-Mix series. As always, he primarily targets the dancefloor when presenting his current House favourites but this alternating combination of clubtracks gorgeously works at home as well. To put it shortly: Terry manages to meet his high standards again and serves us a perfect mixture of dubby House, some straight forward bassdrums and relaxing sounds. Truly dancable but also laid back, that´s the musical formula that makes the Terry´s Café series ever so popular.
J. Axel* - Deepness Is Served - 18-Jul-08 07:46 AM
With "Deepness Is Served" Jonathan Axelsson aka J. Axel delivers his first long player on Plastic City. The eleven tracks on the album are a prefect display of soulful and slick productions ranging between house music and beautiful downbeat affairs. A stunning journey through deep sound-scapes, tight & precise drums and unique arrangements. "You Give me Love" features vocals by Astrid Suryanto and a impressive sax-solo by Alex Van Heerden, it perfectly displays the mood of the album – true late night bar / dance vibes with jazzy rhodes, smooth bass-lines on top of sexy drums. "Deepness Is Served" is based on a super dope & laid back beat with sweet melodies and minor chords: cocktail joint blues. Just like the "Jazz On The 22nd Floor" down-tempo big city vibes. "This Time", "Hiding" & "In A Distant Bar" are slightly up tempo house music tracks reminiscent of the cool Naked Music releases. Atmospheric, soulful and absolutely dance floor compatible. "It's Right Here" & "Crowns On the Tower sound as if J. Axel was the unknown twin brother of the lounging Glenn Underground. Synthesizer layers, keen solos – clavinet style and organic. "Skywatcher" contains Hawaii style acoustic guitar chords underneath warm strings for truly intimate moments morph into a beautiful song structure with poetic qualities... this is beyond lounge music. "Magic Of Dusk" the most soul-esque tune on the album.. broken beats, sax licks, e-piano deepness, slick vocals. "Loveletters" is the most ambient song on the album.
This album was released in a limited edition on the label "Boheme" before (CD fomat only).
