Hidden Agenda - Dispatches - 15-Oct-09 08:46 AM
All time classic DnB tune. Impressive programming, its the beginning of what I would call the "Precision Beat-Editing Era within DnB" when producers started editing, rather then looping the beat, in this case an Amen Break.
When I first heared this 12" in a cologne catacomb venue when DJ Bleed (actual part-owner of germany's DE:BUG magazine) dropped it, it made me smile and dance. I wish DnB would come back to this complexity, sexiness and flow. Way Ahead of its time. Goes well with anything from the Certificate 18 Catalogue.
Baruka - Play It Loud - 27-Jul-07 08:34 PM
This 12" by Baruka is one of the most underrated vinyl productions to date. It features a sound that has to be described as the birth of Minimal Techno / Tech House long before its time. Featuring a lot of funk feel and slick groove programming and production.
White Noise - An Electric Storm - 07-Sep-06 04:31 AM
An absolutely unbeliavable masterpiece that was miles ahead of its time and is still available in good record shops (CD). If you think sweeping filters on drumparts have been invented in the trip-hop era you couldn't be more worng. These people have done it before. This is one of the most relevant albums regarding elaborate composition and production techniques in modern music. Very deep listening.
Legendary Pink Dots, The - 03-Jun-04 05:02 PM
though there must be hundred thousands of LPD fans starting to cry when they hear "i love you in your tragic beauty" or "premonition 16" or "any day now" or any other "hit" by this most incredible band they remain underrated as hell. this is mostly because they simply define their own musical scales and skills. the PIAS-albums ANY DAY NOW, CRUSHED VELVET APOCALYPSE, THE GOLDEN AGE and MARIA DIMENSION or the ultra-timeless cooperation with SKINNY PUPPY as TEAR GARDEN in the mind-blowing TIRED EYES, SLOWLY BURNING are as innovative and breathtaking as the BEATLES or THE WHITE NOISE must have been back in their own times... and I am trying not to exagerate. I respectful take a bow in front of this band.
sing while you may.
