Lisaya vs. Petersen* Meets DJ Deraven - Ebony Angel / Embracing Sunlight - 20-Sep-07 04:36 AM
This release is all about the comeback of Mat Silver if u ask me!

But first things first.

DJ Lee does a nice job as usually. Megarastyle all the way, and still rockin as ever! Nice hard trance with german dance (hands up, dancecore etc) elements. Strong leads, nice break & melody, hardbass and so on... i call it Commercial Hard Trance. :)

Second Nature, not familiar with this artist, but he did a good job. If DJ Lee RMX was pure commercial "hardtrancey" banger, this is like the exact opposite :). Feels like a pure trancer. Mellow melody, gentle strings, bass and all. Nice one for the debut of this Norwegian producer.

And now we get to the absolute highlight of this vinyl - the DJ Space Raven & Mat Silver Remix!
Don't know about you, but this great hardtrance tune takes me back in 2004!! Amazing production by Hard Trance master, what Mat Silver certainly is! Who doesn't remember his partnership with Tony Burt and their beautiful hard trance pieces from early 2000's till 2005 (2 years gone by since Mat Silver released anything, damn! Hopefully this indicates his return). For this production he teamed up with the french nu rising hardtrance talent: DJ Space Raven (Ray Burton's (Toxic Records!) protégé).

Acidy stabs, rolling bassline, hardkicks and then this beautiful break! The synth is just sublime, and accompanied with angellike pads, just awesome! And soon after that we are introduced to the
filtered arp that slowly builds up (doh :P), and unleashes this beast of a pure hard trance tune!! Also love the "indian like flute or something" that comes in a bit later \o/ !!
2004-ish Hardtrance was the shit! When i first heard this tune i couldn't stop listening to it.

And the last track of this vinyl is DJ Sakin Remix
As trends dictate these last two years, there had to be a "techy-loopy" rmx included of course.
Not my cup of tea, but could've been worse. OK attempt by a legend like DJ Sakin. A decent tech-trance rmx.

Tracid Traxxx - 19-Aug-07 06:47 PM
It appears after few monthts after being declared "dead" (who said that? Kai and TTX guys themselves?), the label is back. Back with new Kai Tracid release. As we all know his style has changed in 2004 (the last track in his good ol' style was "4 Just 1 Day"). What we could hear on TTX's sublabel Acid Files was his new sound. For 2007 he is back with the electro-minimal-acid-tech sound once again and the new TTX release - "TTX3001 Kai Tracid - Inflator/Aural Border" is coming out soon. I am disappointed by Kai Acid (yes Trance part was lost long ago :(), but there's nothing we fans can do about it.

Galen Behr vs. Hydroid - Carabella - 25-Jun-07 01:36 PM
Wonderful release! Galen Behr did not disappoint me yet. I'm a proud owner of all 3 releases by him @ Yakuza.
Original Mix is kind of my fav of these two. Tho very progressive & slow (129BPM), which is not really Galen Behr's usual speed, but it's great! That "bells" over the deeppad bassdrum before the break and main melody come in, so sweet! And when out of knowhere melody changes, awesome!
Remix is also very nice! Goes to the "usual" trance 138BPM and gives us a wonderful uplifting trip on that sweet melody from the Original. But it's quite the usual melodic uplifter (which is good, especially with that mello) and is nothing special really, so Original is the one that really stands out \o/!!
