Nu NRG - Most Wanted - 12-Oct-07 08:04 AM
When you hear that an artist is planning to release his next album, you are always wishing yourself it'll be at least as good as the last one. But sometimes it's definitely difficult to maintain the artistic level of the previous one if it was close to perfection. But don't worry... This time Nu NRG didn't fail. Oh, how could it be different? Nu NRG never failed, did they?

Sadly, it looks to be the last album released by both, Andrea and Giusseppe as some time ago they split. That's probably the main reason why we get a "tribute to"-looking album, as there is no new material in here. For me that's surely not a disadvantage, cause I'm still a big fan of their old productions from which many still stay unreleased as a full length singles.

Two Italian floorkillers delivered once again a perfect blend of energetic, uplifting and tech trance. Starting with "Intro" which blends just perfectly with it's follow-up, "Kosmosy", Andrea and Giusseppe are slowly building-up the climax. Nu NRG used to start their sets similarly in the past years, mostly in 2003 I think. Hit after hit. There's no space for weak singles in here, only real gems are welcome. Whatever your musical taste is, you just can't walk past "Butterfly" without any reaction. That flowing energy just tells you to move your feet and body, no excuses! With #9, "D-31", Nu NRG switch from more melodic, yet uplifting trance to more techier productions. If someone asks me to tell the weak sides, I will probably complain about putting the 2003 version of "Take Your Air" instead of 2001's Air Mix. Despite that, the 2003 hard trancer still kicks ass. "Natural Think" and "Be Rite Back" were featured on "Most Wanted" CD Singles. They are both quality tracks, but when you know that "Last Experience" , the most sought after Nu NRG production is coming, it just doesn't count. Gorgeous 2001 Original easily overcomes Otto's 2006 remix, undoubtedly. Just a perfect ending!

Some may whine about the selection of tracks as they are old, mostly well-known and overplayed, but I presume that for those, who are not that much into Nu NRG material, may hear - for example - "D-31" for the first time. Despite the fact that these tracks mostly come from 2001-2004 period, they still sound fresh and interesting. Others may whine about the fact that it's mixed. I'd love to have "Last Experience" in full length version, but when it's not possible, you have to be happy with what you have.

I personally love that album, hope you will love it, too.

iiO - At The End (Remixes) - 22-Apr-07 05:57 AM
It's all about the Scumfrog Remix. I've heard that remix for the first time in Sasha's set from Manumission, Ibiza (04-08-02) and what can I say? It's simply magnificent! Driving bassline makes this track a perfectly suitable to be dropped in the DJ set in the club. Actually it's one of the best basslines I've ever heard. Nadia's vocal is outstanding, but every trance/house music fan knows, that she's one of the best singers in modern electronic music. Despite almost five years from release date, this work still sounds fresh and innovative. Don't hesitate no longer, just buy it. You will surely not regret it as it is a real gem!

Matt Darey Feat Izzy - Eternity - 18-Dec-05 12:47 PM
I have recently heard Matt Darey's Remix of Eternity and, what can I say, it's just simply amazing! Izzy has made fantastic vocals, which sound like they were taken from opera. Listening to it makes me shiver. But not only vocals are excellent. Matt Darey has perfectly adjusted them to his music. That connection made that tune like being out of this world. When the days got shorter and the nights got colder, I've began to listen to this song more and more often. It helps me relax myself and take things easy. If you get annoyed or anxious, this track will certainly help you in calm down yourself. I've got no more to say, except recommendig this release to you.

Gouryella - 16-Dec-05 01:23 PM
If you posses all the Gouryella's releases you can be proud from yourself. Starting from Gouryella and ending on Ligaya, a new trance fan can easily get to know about the true sight of trance. I don't know, whose vision it was to create Gouryella's tracks. All it's essence have been gathered and packed in a small pill, which definitely made any of Gouryella's tracks a masterpiece. I don't even care if it was Ferry's or Tiesto's conception. But the one thing I know for sure is that the best tunes would be created if they both have worked together, not only on their own. Then we will have more outstanding tunes like Vimana - Dreamtime or all those Gouryella's releases. Now, when the formation has divided, they will not produce any track more under the name of Gouryella. Anyone, who likes their style maybe can find an equivalent when he listen to Photon Project tunes (like Enlightment for example).

Photon Project - Enlightenment / Illumination - 15-Dec-05 10:23 AM
Are you a classical and electronic music fan? You are searching for a song, which mixes their elements together? This release is probably what you are looking for. What's more, this feature makes those song diametrically different from others. Enlightment and Illumination does the thing as well. I've got a feeling, that there is some magic in those tracks. From the beginning to the end you will feel like being under their spell. The 2005 Edition of Enlightment, which I posses is definitely one of my currently favourite songs. Both of them are chilling and peaceful - just perfect for a cold and windy evening, when you want to warm yourself in front of a fireplace.
I will send a postcard to Santa, wishing a new Photon Project's release as a gift under the Christmas Tree.
