Lily Allen - LDN - 12-May-07 01:29 AM
The unofficial "love it or hate it"-artist, Switch, rapes the track completely! Lily Allens vocal, along with the main melody, gets cut up and heavily filtered. This remix, being possibly the weirdest one up-to-date by Dave Taylor, is total chaos from the beginning to the very end. In the midst of everything are thrown sounds of a phone ringing, gun shots and snippets of Lilys voice looped over and over again. I didnt like this at first but after I heard it the second time around, I really started to like it. Brilliant stuff, but definately not for everyone!
Brandy (2) / Unknown Artist - What About Love / Ring The Alarm - 04-Apr-07 05:25 AM
The B-side is where the moneys at. It features about six different rappers: some rapping in ragga style and others rapping in a "normal" way. It sounds like each lyrical performance has been taken from a different track and the result is a great D track, where the beats are good as well. Ring de alarm!
DJ Sakin & Friends - Thunderbird - 22-Mar-07 10:13 PM
Rather weird release this one; DJ Sakin decided to sample a few sentences from Run-D.M.C.s "Peter Piper" and I must say that very sample is the single factor that makes this record any good. Other than that, this is just your average electro-ish trance track. You gotta love the breakdown, as it features Runs vocals with the original beats! Also, you dont see many 80s Hip-Hop tracks sampled to the world of trance. Ever.
Bette Midler - I'm Beautiful - 03-Mar-07 12:13 AM
The Brinsley Evans remix is basically a mash-up between Bettes vocals and Stardusts Music Sounds Better With You (without Benjamin Diamonds vocals). Play it after the Stardust original and see the crowd roar!
Various - Da Phunk (The Punk) / Oxygene 4 - 12-Jan-07 04:46 PM
What makes this release worth getting is that the both tracks have been played with real instruments. The manic bass line in Da Funk has been done by scratching and sounds rather funny. The B-side isnt as good in quality as the A-side is, as Jean-Michel Jarres original track has been made to sound rather boring.
