Blaze - Do You Remember House (Solid Groove Remixes) - 02-Mar-05 06:57 AM
Starts off with a scream and then a long intro with bits of vocal and effects, before suddenly dropping into a typical heavy, jacking beat as expected from Solid Groove. The kickdrum is fat, and a worthy (but very different) remix of the original.
J.T. Donaldson - Vanguard Nights EP - 15-Nov-04 10:41 AM
Vanguard nights EP is a great big rolling, swinging nodder. It fits into Mr Donaldson's deeper style, with the two B sides in familiar territory. The title track is a standout tune though. It shuffles along with plenty of Hi-Hats and what sounds like a double bass, After a couple of snare-juggling breakdowns and a blast on a trumpet, it goes right back into "30's swing" for the deep / jacking / Chicago house dancefloor.
Citizen Kay - Get High - 15-Nov-04 10:41 AM
Warbling, rolling tech-houser that drives the tune up to the end. Electro-ish beats with a proper bassline that wouldn't be out of place coming from a mid-90s Junglist. Blow your fucking whistles.
Electroflow does exactly what it says on the tin. Crisper sounding synths and beats, quite cool and classy without being too deep for the dancefloor.
Brett Johnson - Me Talk Pretty One Day - 14-Sep-04 11:11 AM
Temptations and Lies is a fantastic tune, quirky and cool, with a great intro from "a 5th grader called Tommy". This record is not as club-orientated as Brett's other work (a bit deeper), but is extremely well-produced, and won't leave your head.
White Stripes, The
vs.
Adam Freeland - 7th Nation Freeland - 14-Sep-04 11:11 AM
Reasonably predictable Freeland mix of the White Stripes' classic. Builds and builds making you stomp around until white noise takes over and leaves you lying on the floor, feeling slightly abused.
