Profile: Position Normal is an independent dance music company based in the UK and Ibiza combining vinyl distribution for dance music and dance music events and promotions. It was set up after realizing the need to help increase the supply and demand of quality dance music on vinyl having taken a few years break from distributing dance music on vinyl within London and the UK for over fifteen years.
Fred Everywhere, DJ and company director, freelanced as an independent vinyl dance music distributor in the UK for many years before setting up his first vinyl distribution company, Metropolis Distribution in 1997. It was during his Metropolis years when Fred built his reputation as one of London’s leading dance music distributors. It was his passion and ear for good underground dance music alongside his determination that got many of today’s underground dance music classics such as Knights Of The Jaguar, Buggin The Bassbin, Galaxy to Galaxy, Circus Bells and Minimal Nation amongst many others into the record shops, into DJs record bags and onto the dance music clubs.

Fred’s reputation and continued involvement within the vinyl distribution industry has enabled Position Normal to continue to order from thousands of in-demand dance music titles from thousands of techno, house, electro, funk, disco and re-edit labels through an already established network of worldwide dance music suppliers. Position Normal are also proud to be one of the remaining few vinyl dance music distribution companies left after what has been a testing and challenging few years for most involved in selling new recorded dance music on vinyl. Position Normal now have a growing used vinyl catalogue on Discogs.
"After selling a lot of our own unwanted records through our Position Normal store on Discogs we soon saw the realization that even today used vinyl still retains a value, whether personal or financial and since November 2007 we have been turning our own unwanted vinyl into much needed cash. We now have a dedicated team in place solely to sell unwanted vinyl records on behalf of individual collectors and DJ's. We clean, grade and upload every record individually and endeavour to get the best price possible for every individual vinyl record or CD sold."
