Kamara - Ave Mea Italia - 19-Aug-08 03:00 PM
This record is probably one of the best 'early hardstyle' (the hard trance-ish stuff from 1999-2002/3 as played on the first Qlubtempo and Qlimax-events) records there is. Because it is so rare, few people know it. The Desire-mix is most catching and features a very hard kick and bassline, like those used by Scot Project, and a hooverish melody which is quite repetitive but that only makes it more hypnotizing.
I would advise everyone who comes across a copy, to negotiate a purchase. It might be very expensive, but still cheap compared to a lot of collector's items, but it's definetely worth the 60-70 euros you will gotta spend for it.
Highly recommended, for the Euro hard trance fan. 11/10 ;)
M Rey - Naked With Style - 22-Jul-08 09:27 AM
Top class record, reminds very much of the sound of Oliver Klitzing or Essential DJ Team. I really can't see why it's got such a low rating, the production is awesome, the vocal is fun to play around with while you are mixing, and the beats are raw and mechanic, yet grooving at the same time.
This goes only for the A-side, but just one good version will do it for me, and the record owes my 5/5 vote to that.
P.H.A.T.T. - Damage Control - 18-Jul-08 10:16 AM
Absolute top notch productions, showing that Nukleuz is still one of the best labels around when it comes to European hard trance.
I especially like the SHOKK remix, which is his trademark sound, but not produced by Marco Guardia but by DJ Spaceraven. It has a tremendous drive, dirty glitch-like synths, a very short (virtually non-existent) breakdown and a very hard riff which turns any dancefloor into a place of mayhem.
The original mix is really trancy and melodic, while the Vandall mix is more tech-oriented, making this release to be something which any hard dance or trance fan can thoroughly enjoy.
Nukleuz - 17-Jul-08 08:00 PM
This is one of the most important labels in hard dance history.
But not only is it responsible for the UK releases of continental hard dance, it is also home to some of the very best producers and remixers the UK has ever seen.
Even though it was a loss for them to see BK and Ed Real leave to found another great label (Riot!) they still deliver pretty much high quality releases.
With their current focus on digital releases they keep true hard trance alive, as shown in PHATT's new release 'Damage Control' whilst on the other side their UK hardcore releases are good, but just not my cup of tea.
Although the label's best years have passed, it still pretty much guarantees premium quality music.
Digital Pressure - Un Real / Event Horizon - 03-Jul-08 07:11 AM
This record is one of the most amazing hard trance belters I know of. Both sides are exellent tracks in their own right, Unreal, featuring the wellknown sample 'In a few moments you will have an experience which will seem completely real', is a very good recreation of the classic DJ Scot Project sound. It contains a tremendously euphoric riff and a killer kick and bassline.
Event Horizon is somewhat more dark, and contains a sample taken from one of the soundtracks in the Fifa World Cup 98 game. It is also equipped with a great melody and is, in my opinion, the second best track on the vinyl only by a very slim margin.
