Cascada - 18-Jul-09 07:32 AM
One takes 2 big shot German hard trance producers and a busty blonde who is not too bad at singing, combined, the 3 are guaranteed to top the charts.
Even though I dont enjoy this type of music myself, I think it is an important form of music, because it is put to great use as an introduction to dance music for kids. In order to prevent your 8-year old from listening to hiphop, r and other useless shit, you better give them a dose of Cascada 3 times a day.
Scooter is great, for that purpose as well. And you can use the track Boo Selekta - I Hate Hip Hop (Avancada remix) as the coupe de grace for any chance these fucked up multi million dollar US bling bling hiphop producers might have to screw up your kids brains!
Anne Savage / Dark By Design - Psychout / Blackout - 24-Apr-09 07:17 AM
Blackout was truly an eye-opener for me. Listening, at the time, mostly to Q-Dance hardstyle stuff, upon hearing this tune I decided calling that a day, and exploring the world of dark and evil hard trance music as a substitute.
Though Ive always been keen on uplifting hard trance like Alphazone and DuMonde, this tune really showed me what good DARK hard trance is about. Even though the song itself is produced pretty roughly, its one of these tunes which you cant get tired of, ever.
Blutonium Boy vs DJ Neo* - Hardstyle Nation - 17-Apr-09 07:13 AM
The hardstyle mix of this record is probably one of the most well-known hardstyle tunes ever produced. Some people truly hate it, others like it for its straightforward banginness. Im one of the latter, its not a great melodic anthem but just a bangin party tune which serves most hard-minded dance floors well.
The Dj Neo remix however, is a totally different track. It starts off with an intro which sounds exactly like the intro of Cosmic Gate - The Truth and even the break down and lead melody reminds of this. Still, it is a nice record in its own right, which can be very useful when you play a hard trance set.
Tekkie - Lost In Space - 10-Mar-09 10:44 AM
Probably one of the best Blutonium-releases. The hard mix sounds really modern for its release year, compared to this tune even most 2002-2003 releases from Technoboy and co. sound outdated. The track is a perfect example of the early hardstyle but in fact it contains many elements which are typical for the nu-style breed of hardstyle. The screech synths in the intro and the abundant use of bizarre tweaked sound fx make it a true prophetic track for the years to come.
I wouldnt doubt about spinning this tune in a set nowadays even though its almost 9 years old. It truly proves what a great producer Michael Fusseder really is. Even though he doesnt get as much credit, he is absolutely on the same level as Scot Project, Cosmic Gate, DJ Wag and many more!
Fausto* - Raise Up - 10-Mar-09 05:53 AM
A nice release by the Dutch hard dance pioneers from Xsif (nowadays also known as Excessive) with label owner Fausto on production duties.
His original mixture combines the driving forces of hard trance with something more clubby. The original mix is a moody crossover between tribal-ish tech beats like used in Dutch electro/tech house and the hyperactive ADHD-hard dance full of percussion, not unlike Tommy Pulses productions. It still got Fausto written all over it and will get the crowds moving for sure.
On remix duties we got Audio Psychos, who are no household name in the hardstyle scene yet, but rapidly becoming one. They delivered a high quality, tough horror style remix, which will be enjoyed best by fans of Fusion and Blutonium Records etc.
The other remix is credited to the mighty Jan van Bass, aka 50% of the Sun-X Boys. He adds something spicy to the package as well, with a full-on German style hard trance/style crossover. If you are into hardstyle and like something different from the usual hands in the air triplet-based hardcore-ish sound, you will dig this one for sure.
All mixes are worthy of big room dj support and will rock any dance floor full of hardstyle and/or hard trance fans. My favourite mix is the Jan van Bass remix, but I like the other versions almost as much. Highly recommended!
