Kevorkian Death Cycle - A + 0 (m) - 12-Dec-03 12:02 PM
KDC should DO MORE INSTRUMENTALS! I was lured into buying this album for the "How to Nuke Heaven" track, the opening track. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed by the rest. The vocals were simply not to my liking. And the cover of "Relax" isn't anything spectacular, definitely not a reason to get this. The gothic trance sound on this album is great, but too bad so much of it is muddled by what I feel are awful, unnecessary lyrics.

I purchased this album when, on a fluke, I had heard a cut from it on my favorite indie radio show, the Grey Zone (now Rocket Radio), on Dallas' own KNON. It's a wonderful, eclectic electronic album, with "Videostore" probably being my favorite with an incredible build and nice atmosphere to it. Great production all around on it. How do I describe it without pidgeonholing it? It's a nice mix of ambient, techno, breaks, trance -- damn, words don't give it justice. And yes, I believe that really is the sound of pissing on the beginning of "Crickey," "Strangeness of the Kind," or "Birthson." I can't remember, since I don't have the album right in front of me. Do yourself a favor and grab this one if you can find it. I'm sure these days it's quite rare. I don't know what ever happened to the guys who produced this, because I would have really liked to have heard more from them. I suppose life had other things in store for them. But if they do put out a new album, I'd be the first in line to buy it.
