I am a dj, much like most of the people on this site I guess. I like every genre and play them all out. I'm just starting to get into production and re-edits so hopefully I'll have some releases on here myself one day. Which'd be nice. My music taste is ridiculously eclectic. If you like everything from Bruce Haack to Bobby O, Hellfish & Producer to Hot Chip and M83 to Ministry to Micheal Mayer etc etc then you're my kinda music geek. You go girl. If you don't, you can bite me. I don't buy anything from e-Bay.

James Holden - At The Controls - 03-May-06 11:30 PM
Personally I think this mix is Holdens best work to date, excellent as his Balance was, At The Controls shows both how much hes grown as a DJ and a desire and thirst for pushing forward and refusing to restrict himself to genres or boundaries. If that sounds pretentious, well, maybe it is, but unless you want to take joking around into the realms of high art, sometimes you have to put at least a little bit of a serious face on to create something fresh and original within a format that is a) inherently limited and b) already full to bursting with apparent pinnacles. As far as Im concernced, on At The Controls, Holdens set a new standard for supposedly Progressive music by actually moving forward, unlike the majority of its practicioners. Hes even put Trans Am on it, and Trans Am are fucking brilliant!
Michael Mayer - Fabric 13 - 19-Apr-06 10:07 AM
I almost dont see the point in commenting on this cd, but I feel I should just to mention the fact that it features, both Superpitchers Mushroom and the amazing Jackson mix of M83. Any mix featuring these would undoubtably be golden but Michael Mayers is for me not only the best Fabric mix ever but also my favourite mix album, a true work of perfectly balanced techno craftsmanship, it glides, it soars it undulates, it touches you in those special places you only touch yourself at night...and you will love it for it.
Digital Mystikz & Loefah - Twisup - 06-Feb-06 04:07 PM
I always thought it was called Chamber, but nonetheless, I reckon this is one of the best grime records ever made, mainly for the B-sides. Twis up is good, but the two flips are insanely wonderful pierces of modern evil, the sound of murderous darkness in the most pleasurably goose bumping way. And the bass-line on B, Oh. My. God. Its the best way of telling your neighbours to turn down that fucking spice girls record, trust me.
Mylo - Drop The Pressure - 28-Jan-06 04:03 PM
I consider the Glimmers mix of this song the only one that hasnt gotten INCREDIBLY old already. Really, the ridiculous overexposure of Drop The Pressure killed it dead, but the Glimmers mix sounds completely different, and alive. Probably because they remake the song so drastically its barely recognisable other than the nagging hook, its almost Idjut Boys esque in its dubbed out swirlyness, which is obviously a good thing.
Tharau & Decaine - We Put A Spell On You E.P. - 27-Jan-06 04:11 AM
This E.P. didnt exactly impress me, its mainly ok, but Jaw Dropping, is almost, if not quite, just that (jaw dropping I mean). Its a great bouncy minimal electro house thing that deserves some serious soundsystem action and is interesting enough to listen to on the bus.
