Infinite Scale - Ad Infinitum - 31-Mar-09 08:05 AM
This is definitely a gorgeous album, Infinte Scale as always shows unattainable level of performance and outstanding composers abilities. Yes, the sound has changed, become more dense and ponderous, thanks largely to a pronounced bass line, and frankly, I still can not decide I like it or not. "Sound Sensor" and "Automated Compositions" were much more transparent and relaxation, then bass sometimes overrides other sounds. So far, I blame my cheap reproducing reproducing equipment, which is quite possibly not pulls the depth of the events. Beat has changed too, but fortunately, the experiments carried out by the Inifinite Scale, have been really successful. Sometimes its hip-hop, sometimes its dubstep (which is now without it), the rhythm section provides nothing less than positive effect on my hearing aid. The only criticism in this regard, I initially called "Knock Twice", beats of which it seemed to me not very well expressive, but having listened to several times I realized Scales vision, and now this song is one of the favourite. And here that there was invariable so it that, for what I so have become attached to creativity of Harmi Palda, improbable, magnificent (further a never-ending stream of epithets :) ) on the beauty ambients substrates and masterful possession of reverberations, doing music is literally the perceived. Secede in "Tryshasla" Kettel in "Volleyed Iron" could not so me to impress in these aspects of sound-design though these albums I consider as one of the best among ambients second half two-thousand. It is necessary to listen to the first track "Cells" and at once all becomes clear, who in modern melodious IDM sets a lath. Perfectionistic approach of Infinte Scale is doing its part, here or the most severe selection of a material, or superlaborious work on each track, and can also all at once. As he said: "I would rather have one good album or EP a year than 2 average releases which just receive little or no press". Like the common truth, but is not present many musicians fill up us with mediocrity literally.
Finishing this review, I wish to say that "Ad Infintum" is for me absolutely album of year and though we await for Secede and Kettel they will have to seriously try to leave the same deep feeling in my soul.
