Reviews & Discussion:

Finally a normal 12" release. Been playing this of his myspace since like a year now and couldn't get enought of it. Jochem most likely took it off because of his Dead Bears release.

This is an inside view of the deep soul of NWAQ. To me it represents 'the truth' without saying a word. Strings fade in and out and suddenly there is just the synth line probing your attention to the things most people just want to push away like they are not there.

Get it while you can because this is still hot after so many years and will be searched after in the future.
To me it's all about the Chasers track. Odd complicated rhythm and filtered and resampled synths chords bringing the real futuristic sound kenny was doing at the time. Like his Xirtam and Plink Plonk remixes and Warp releases. I always imagined he experimented with his machines like he did working as an engineer in the army. The shit is like a very minimal hard techno track that doesn't do anything for me. To bad Kenny lost it the last 10 years.
Listening to this again after 8 years and it still sounds fresh to me. Paris - Chicago sounds like how it should be. Paris for the jazzy stuff and Chicago for the looped up trumpets and acid lines. But mind you! This is all 1 track! Today there are almost no tracks pressed like this anymore. They all stick to one format but this release still proves it can be different and works very well on the dancefloor until today.

This setup is how the rest of the record works too. London for the harder more euro sound and so on.

Other thing I noticed was that New York - London at around 6:00, the trumpet sample and the beat go way out of sync. Sync being picked up later but it looks like they maybe looped the sample on tape and synced the rest to that and pitched up the tape a little bit to get the sync back.

nah .. all the way around .. no way the g flame mix does anything to me .. 90's slapstick techno .. seen the advent and g flame do better .. the house side samples a disco track .. really 'open' track, no real hook but has nice vibe !
