I am a Semi-Retired Old School D.J. from inner South Side of Chicago. Started spinning in 82' with mom's belt driven turntables. Record collection was started by older brothers and sisters early 70's...Breaking Days gave me the hype. In my mind and heart I feel I can still break dance... but I know I'll break my back or dislocate something. My kid's don't believe me...wish we were able to afford a video camera back then. No, I can't fit into my Bruce Lee one piece suit any more.
I was one of those D.J.'s that had to have every new record that came out...whenever I collected enough for one record I would take a 2 hour walk to and from Loop Records and Imports...to purchase any new or old record on a list that grew every day. Even though I did not have the venues to play the music...the music lover I am...I had to buy it....I built shelves in the basement...so unless they were in my everday crates they were shelved away...some were purchased...played once at the store and never listened to again. I was just glad to have it.
Any way...selling all my music. Just found Discogs early Janurary of 09' and will start logging my collection for sale. Have a whole basement full of vinyl (over 20,000)...all types of music House, Hip Hop, Alternative, Funk...I played it all. It may take a few years to list all...so check back from time to time. Let me know what you are looking for and I'll dig it up. Shipping depends on quantity of pieces being purchased...best savings when quantity purchased.
If there is a vinyl listed you want me to upload some music too...I'll try to accomadate.
