House Master Boyz And The Rude Boy Of House, The* - House Nation - 23-Feb-05 01:54 PM
This ep, a classic anthem of this genre which I used 2 copies to work all version in a mix was defenetly one that stood out amongst all those other chicago track at that time when I started playing "House Music" at this legendary Montreal Gay club called "Le Garage" in 1986-87.

It became an anthem especially in the way the lyrics calls for "house nation" inspiring the crowd being exposed to this new form of dance music, but also, was transported later on when the "house nation" as a crowd broke bigger, including ravers and clubbers, singing and identifying themselves being part of this HOUSE NATION.
A truly great innovative and special record.

I rate this mix I made this way, not because its badly mix or bad, but because the type of some of the tracks absloutely dont reflect the music I actually play.
Why did I do it then?

It was a project from the beer Company Bitburger for a Club Tour Through Germany, and, it was not to be only in House clubs or trance ones.
So they gave me all the songs they got from some of the djs and live acts that would perform on the tour, and my duty was to mix it together.
Im happy of the technical side, meaning the mixes, but, wouldnt want to confuse the people who like my style to think that Id go so far to play some of the tracks on the cd, especially the faster Trance tracks towards the end of the cd.
I dont play this type of music at all.
This was just a mix assignment, and had no influence on the choice of tracks/artists.

I had to edit a few tracks in order to make the whole thing fit together, and to go from very housy track, till the end of the cd where the faster trance was used.

Green Vynil 12" with one side of 13 minutes of extreme filtering of a disco loop a la " basic channel " (long before they came around....) and the other side with a mix produced together with DJ TWIN PEETZ (Odrex, Odyssey (he had to switch name), from Montreal (now Berlin).
This was one of the very first record using this type of Heavy filtering....and very long minimalism.
Appeared on DJ HELLs chart in German Groove magazine, and Josh Wink reviewed and raved about it in an interview in the French magazine CODA.

French: Ce Disque-la est canadien, produit par ROBERT DE LA...GAUTHIER, qui est un peu connu en Europe, mais jai eu du mal a mettre la main dessus. Ca cogne dur, cest tres sec, minimal et completement barre. Quand je joue le disque, la plupart des gens croient que je suis entrain de mixer et triturer les boutons dequalisation comme un fou!

English re-translation: This record is canadian, produced by ROBERT DE LA...GAUTHIER, a bit known in europe, but I had a hard time getting my hands on this record. It hits hard, very dry, minimal and completely crazy! When I play this record, most poeple think Im mixing and twisting the EQ like crazy!

Robert De La... Gauthier s very first studio experience and official remix. Made sometime in early eighties...but no exact date till now

The remix is kind of tribal , instrumental dub " ish " weird backward...sounds, where he speeded up some loops and played and layered others backwards.

Released on 4 different record covers ,
each being a part of a 4 piece puzzle, and this record already limited is quite rare and really hard to find.
