Underworld - Rez / Cowgirl - 25-Jun-08 05:25 PM
Rez a pscychedelic trance track? Hahahaha that is a absolutely cracking joke.
There is a difference between dub and trance. Agreed it's a somewhat fine line. The difference is notable in the productiontechnique. Underworld [re-]dubbed some of the channels in the mix (and added sounds). Psy-neo-trance is about crescendo, snare-rolls, wahey, cheap sex and (anti-)climaxes. This track is closer to house.

Rez is valued as one of the best tracks of Underworld by the public. And that's with a reason. For one Rez is inbetween over- and underground. Other then that the composition should be felt live or on the dancefloor.

8-Bit Rockers* - Exit/Entrance - 24-May-08 04:21 PM
A electronic music lover from Russia knew that i was in contact with Sami. His desire was that a new 8-Bit Rockers record saw the light of day. Immediately i agreed and directed this thought toward Sami. His response: 'that will be really hard! It's difficult for me to create this kind of music'. It took me some weeks of encouragement and thankfully he managed to create this piece after some months.
The tracks on the record are not the best 8-bit Rockers tracks out there. Still it stands out from many electroproducers. It has that certain signature and it's oh so sweet. Knowing that Mr. Liuski used the time (years) to create the previous 8-bit rockers records i have the biggest respect for this twelve. I can't wait for the next 8-bit Rockers release. Hurry, Hurry!!!

Legowelt - 05-Apr-08 04:30 PM
His attitude is to serve and every serve is in. Legowelt plays the game with style and great accuracy. His first servings, although Legowelt himself self said it was just some 'probeersel', exactly hit home.
The man feels what the public wants and succesfully creates an advanced vision thereafter. Easily switching to whatever moniker he feels like containing the high standards he himself demands.
Every release is an adventure on itself. Danny can decide to create a masterpiece in a genre if he wants to. Signs of a musical genius.
With partners in crime Brian Schijf+, Lukas Petterson and ? they have created standards. Legowelt conjures up the world that is the musical dream you dreamt.
Mr. Wolfers not only has that touch but has demonstrated the touch while staying in touch with the underground. Needless to say that he is admired by the lot of us.

Sisters Of Mercy, The - 26-Jan-08 04:26 PM
In the early and mid 80ties when new wave was at its peak The Sisters Of Mercy were amongst the first to use drum machines instead of drums. Blasphemous so they were told.
However their music couldn't surpass those who disparate shouted that these productions should not be released to market. Gladly the masses found it highly enjoyable. The people are never wrong.
The Sisters Of Mercy managed to compose friendly yet haunting music of great class. Folk of all classes danced happily around to underground hits such as 'Alice', 'Temple Of Love' and 'This Corrosion'. Every release was a joy, talked about amongst friends and highly sought after.

Nimoy (2) - Untitled - 27-Dec-07 03:45 PM
10 years ago this record probably would have been burned down to the ground by critics or wouldn't they?
However at this time of writing 'The Orca Reunion' was chosen by listeners of the cybernetic broadcasting system as the toptrack of the year 2007. A simple little melody, a bassline accompanied by nifty beats from a worn-out drummachine is all there is to it. Well maybe just maybe a decade of thinking about / working out the production might have helped. Nevertheless the endresult is what counts. Ladies and gentlemen Jan Duivenvoorden reluctantly shared this with us yet he rightfully did so. Lay back and enjoy.
