A GREAT MAN ONCE SAID...

TRANCE:

1. a half-conscious state, seemingly between sleeping and waking, in which ability to function voluntarily may be suspended.
2. a dazed or bewildered condition.
3. a state of complete mental absorption or deep musing.
4. an unconscious, cataleptic, or hypnotic condition.
5. Spiritualism. a temporary state in which a medium, with suspension of personal consciousness, is controlled by an intelligence from without and used as a means of communication, as from the dead.
6. to put in a trance; stupefy.
7. to entrance; enrapture.
8. a musical style specifically designed for gurned up morons to "lose themselves" whilst attempting to dry hump each other in front of a soundsystem that could be put to better use playing some real music.

Toecutter - We Topia - 20-Sep-07 06:15 AM
A total and utter musical nightmare in every sense of the word.
I would only suggest listerning to this if you have a good sense of humour and enjoy having your ears molested by a sample abusing deviant who revels in assaulting your senses with shrieking high frequencys and cut to f*ck beats.
Everyone is a target with many popular artists having there tunes totaly destroyed particularly in the case of Scooter who's travisty against dance music "Ramp!(The Logical Song)"is giving a Toecutter make over which is basically him taking the original track and adding the most horrible high pitched squeal over it, Still it aint as bad as the original.

Muff* & Tantrum (3) - Dead Pig Volume 1 - 20-Sep-07 05:48 AM
I spent a couple of months obsessing over both the tracks on here after hearing them in Ely's set at Faction 14(I wasnt there but have the set as an MP3)and wondering whether or not they had been released, it wasnt till i was going through some old records that i hadnt listened much(Or in this case ever)that i realised I already had them.

Great 1st release, If your a fan of Ely & Tantrum's stuff already you will know what to expect, For the uninitated this is a good place to start as its not quite as off the wall as some of there other release's but its still a fast & hard journey into there Gabber/breakcore wonk outs.

Current Value - The Indivisible Force / What's In It - 17-Sep-07 06:06 AM
This record really is something else, The AA side "Whats In it" is a very solid tune another exellent Current Value production but for me its all about the A side.
The "Indivisable Force" has to be one of the most original Drum & Bass tunes for a number of years, From the intro with its spoken words(Something of a Current Value trademark)to the moment the first notes of the bassline begin you can feel this is something abit special.
I would like to be able to describe the bassline's sound but cant find the words, It reminds me of an airplane flying real low over me, Bad discription but anyone whos heard this over a decent system will know what I mean, Utterly devestating.

Sublime (2) - 40 Oz. To Freedom - 25-Jan-07 03:28 PM
Awesome looking re-release of the first and best Sublime album.
I have the glow in the dark version which is perhaps the worst sounding record i own, From the minute i opened the shrink wrap and first put the record on the player its sounded appalling, i have spent some time cleaning the record's but its made no difference and the record's are practically unplayable, Horrible static sound on most of the tracks and thats just the tracks that are reasonable enough to listen too.
I have all the picture disc versions of the Sublime albums which where released by the same label(Erika Records)and they are all have superb sound quality and are excellently pressed records so i hope the problems i found with "40oz" are on my copy only.

Enzyme Records - 17-Aug-06 07:20 AM
One of the most consistent and innovative labels in the hardcore scene at the present time, With its policy of different styles encompassing the whole spectrum of industrial/experimental hardcore(Ophidian,D'sprye)"party" style stuff(Weapon X,D-Dr!ve) and techno edged tunes(Project Omeaga,Nexes)with most of the artist being multi talented meaning that most of the release's have something for everyone.

The only real downside is the people that buy their records with the soul aim of ripping people off by charging double or tripple the standard price for records that are often less than a couple of months old.
