Profile: The first record I actively went out to find and buy was Orbital's "Chime" in 1989. I'd heard it on Jeff Young's legendary The Big Beat Show on Radio One, which occupied the Friday night 7-9pm slot before it all went a bit Pete Tong. I finally found it in The Soul II Soul shop on Tottenham Court Road and rushed straight back home to play it on my dodgy SONY hi-fi. That kicked off a nasty habit that went hand in hand with a social life dominated by the UK club scene and lasted until 1995 when I finally managed to beat my addiction ;) My collection spans the UK and US house music scenes from 1989 onwards: from warehouse, through hardcore and on to garage.
