DJ Rob - In Your Face - 08-May-06 06:55 AM
I was really amazed when I listened to this for the first time. This vinyl is a pretty big difference between Rainbow and all other earlier productions. It uses fresh sounds and addictive melodies and the break has a great atmosphere. Pumping basslines and kicks combined with a good vocal finishes it off. This one is a crowd-cracker for sure!
Don't wanna mention the B-side tho, it just seems like a vinyl filler. Doesn't matter, you can use it fairly good for mixing hardstyle to hardcore.

Automatic DJz - Mad Lay Number Two - 23-Feb-06 02:13 PM
When I hear this track I'm wondering myself... why was this necessary. Basically it's a remix of Dark Oscillators' Ethereal Sound Machine which is done in april 2005.
This record is from november.. so a remix vinyl after only five months seems a bit awkward.

The contents of the track aren't any better either, the atmospheric melodies from the original have disappeared and the bassline has been replaced with something that tries to appeal to the jumpstyle audience. Only the vocal is left but that doesn't do much good on it's own does it.. ?

If SAIFAM decides to come with a madlay number three, I sure hope they put more time in it ;)

Sound Barrier - 21-Feb-06 12:08 PM
The mother company (TMMC) pulled the plug out of this label in early 2006 because the sale revenues of the hardstyle vinyls were not living up to expectations anymore.
Main producer Ado The Dream has signed with SAIFAM instead.

A big shame to see a quality label like this go down.

DJ Rob - Rainbow - 21-Feb-06 09:42 AM
The A-side of this vinyl contains the famous vocal from Rainbow my Marusha and is in my opinion an absolute disgrace to the hardstyle genre. I would prefer to see cheesy elements like this as far away from any association to the hardstyle genre as possible.
Also, the A-side uses many elements of previous tracks by DJ Rob such as Bang Bang.

The B-side is a darker and more technical tune, but the same goes for this track, it uses elements that have been used by the same producer many times before that makes the track overall rather boring.
