Bugotak - The Taiga Man - 01-Jul-09 05:30 PM
Much rock influences can be heard on this album, and artist sing some songs in Russian, unlike in previous album that was sung completely in native languages of people inhabiting the land of Siberia & Altai. Although i was expecting more fully native folk style with this album (just like the previous one, which i've enjoyed very much), this work wasn't disappointing for me: Bugotak took their music into new direction and created very enjoyable while still heavily rooted folk-rock album that was able to touch hidden strings in my soul and made me feel the ROOTS... Also, some songs from previous "Siberian Tales" album got logical and very interesting evolution here, like ritual dance song 'Nergedej' that evolved into psychedelized 'Tumke' and even more hardened and heavy 'Bahatdzarin'. All in all - a very interesting and enjoyable experience, but might be a bit heavy for unprepared listener. Recommended!
