Reviews & Discussion:

Cirez D Dec 10, 2008
Very much agreeing to flamman's comment - I hated 'Call on me' (especially as the Bangalter/Falcon) version was considerably better and the massive airplay of the Eric Prydz version totally killed it for me.

But today was already the second time that I noticed that behind some name was actually this guy here - I liked "Muranyi" by Pryda and I love, love, love the Cirez D remix of Smith & Selway's "Total Departure". Seems like putting this guy into the same drawer as Axwell and the likes would be injust.
This is it. If you're looking for that special 2008 track that doesn't develop any melody (apart from those wonderfully strange little noises in the background and the wobbling bassline), has a feel like Audion's 2006 masterpiece "Mouth to Mouth" to it (they actually even mix together rather well) and that starts techy and unsuspecting and develops into ab-so-lute carnage, look no further than the Cirez D remix of this gem.

I remember a review of Speedy J's "Electric Deluxe" on this page and someone wrote 'if I had to explain techno to someone and had only 1 song to play, this would be it'. This one takes that crown now - if you're not left gasping for air by the end of this 9:10 minute thrill ride, you're probably dead.
La Boom - Atarihuana Apr 30, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)

La Boom are Jan Eißfeldt of "Absolute Beginner" and Kaspar "Tropf" Wiens, both pretty well-known in the German hiphop sector. But this album is different. Where you'd usually expect bass-laden tracks with hiphop vocals, you get light-footed dub-inspired music with hardly ANY vocals that just won't fit into any drawer - anyway, where would you put a mélange of reggae, dub, pop and freakyness (listen closely to the weird vocal bits on "Der beste Mensch von Hannover" and you'll know what I mean).

If you liked Kruder & Dorfmeister "The K&D Sessions" you definitely need to check this one out...laid-back couch music has never been so much fun!
