About me
From my collection you will notice I am a big fan of midnineties goa trance, but I enjoy many types of psychedelic electronica, including, but not limited to, melodic goa trance, dark goa trance, new skool goa trance, old skool progressive psychedelic trance, mainstream progressive trance, tech trance, forest trance, contemporary dark psychedelic trance, old skool psychedelic beatless and beat ambient, contemporary psychedelic beatless ambient, psychedelic dub, mainstream psychedelic ambient, old skool, new skool, new old skool, full-on, night full-on and 2-4pm full on. I try not to bother about genres.
But let’s not waste any more words. Below I give you my very own

Do I sell/trade?
Well, there’s my sales list. Some of that I would be very happy to practically give or trade away in bunches. The prices are just if you only purchase one item. Feel free to contact me!
Some items, of course, may be harder to reduce in price but I’m generally a reasonable fellow.
As for my wantlist, some items have been graded. These refers to my interest in hearing/owning the items. That may be the case for both new shelf items or old OOP items, so a rating says nothing about how much I am willing to pay ... -_-
Reviewing policy
I decided long ago only to review albums I own and only place the review on album versions I own or have owned.
Ratingsystem
In a continous effort to make my ratings more guideful for my readers, I downgraded most of my records by 1 star in May 2006. This stricter grading policy has in turn given more space to differentiate between the albums I really appreciate. After all, they do account for a large parcel of my collection.
Accordingly, rating 3 in my book is a good album, a "safe purchase", that I am most likely not trading or selling. Rating 2 is practically my default setting and rating 1 something I could be happy to part with. Rating 4 is freaking good and rating 5 a classic in my book.
1. frisbee-time and / or forgettable
2. well ...
3. safe purchase
4. highly recommended purchase
5. essential
Hency my current average of about 2.8 which I consider reasonable.

"I believe with the advent of acid, we discovered new ways to think and it had to do with piecing together new thoughts of mind. Why is it that people think it's so evil? What is it about it that scares people so deeply? Because they're afraid that there's more to reality than they have confronted. That there are doors that they're afraid to go in and they don't want us to go in there either because if we go in we might learn something that they don't know. And that makes us a little out of their control."

Braincell (3) - Frequency Evolution - 26-Oct-08 09:20 AM
Latest installment in the Glowing Flame Records/Braincell catalogue. And so there is no doubt. They still rule the Full On scene. Frequency Evolution will offer dance floor madness as much as a ticket to Psychedelia in the comfort of your living room. Pick your preferred venue and Ralph Knobloch picks up the stick from his earlier releases and guides you well into Never Never land.
Admittedly, one may argue that Frequency Evolution does not add much new to the sound we’ve come to expect from Braincell and GF Records. Full on bassline, FX to provide a psychedelic vibe, and a firm determination to run you over with dance music. Well, that might be but these guys have perfected the formula and I know of no other Full On act as interesting as the Swiss/Macedonian/UK triangle. Why fuck with a tried and tested formula?
Consequently, a track by track review is hardly worth the effort. Not counting the chill out closer Daybreak all remaining tracks more or less follow the same line of idea and followers of intelligent Full On are urged to join this party wagon sooner rather than later. This is benchmark material.
As usual Joe is responsible for the art work and once again the result immaculate. If Ultimae is the stand out label within organic chill out music GF Records have conquered the No. 1 Full On stand out spot in every ways.
Another thoroughly enjoyable piece of electronic music from Braincell and GFR!
Various - Imaginarity - 24-Oct-08 01:24 PM
I only recently discovered Glowing Flame Records but imho at the moment they’re showing a pretty good direction of where full on and modern Goa psytrance should go.
#1. Kluster opens the party introducing us to a laidback full on track. This track is not out to run you over with full on masculinity. Instead the “slow” atmostphere creates a spooky mood. There’s a recurring, pleasant flute melodi in, but it’s the islands of dark in between that keeps this track aflive. Nice opener! You gotta go all in to get the full power but if you take this train all the way Psychedelia looms strong in there. #2. Next up is Humbug and in 13 seconds time we’re taken well into Full On. I admit. I’m a full on bass line whore. Give me that 16/16 bass and you’ll see me bouncing off the walls. For the duration I need the FX to keep me interested, though. Still With It has it all. Offered under the right “circumstances” this baby offers all the milewide motorway I need. Psychedelia approaching!
#3. Alter Conscious’ Mountain lays the next track for psychedelic mayheem. Oh yeah. Full on can run you over with sheer power and when you follow this idea to the end, the gates of Psykedelia are right there in front of you to open. It you dare. But you gotta go all in. It’s more challenging ;-)
#4. Some tracks you love right away and imho this is where Goa went. The easiness of Goa tripping and post 2000 Full on dance relentness. An easy 5/5 that is able to rock any dance floor with edge. Music has a future.
#5. The balls that are Glowing Flame is their courage to try on every new genre. Yudhisthira goes forest trance on Gunesvara and you have to be in with trolls to understand. Less hardcore than Sanatonic (much less!) but angry enough as it is this will be a crowd pleaser for many trolls. Trust me. A guru is like the captain of a ship which with infailable brease and instructions and scriptures can guide one to the highest spiritual dimension. Or something.
#6. I’ve commented on Trold before so I’m biased because I dig them. But anyone into todays modern dance music will be entertained by Playing With Fire. They build up and deliver a climax that gets you grabbing through you album collection. What the hell can take over?
#7. Glowing Flame owner Marko Daravelski to the rescue. Teaming with Boran Lakovski he shows his touch with the crowd. This is stuff played under lightning decory and full moon palms. Or anywhere. I even love their incorporation of vocals and I seldom go for vocals. But here … is a bliss whilst I’m tripping hard. Count me in Macedonia! Awesome track.
#8. Crazy Norwegians Trold to reply? Well, this track goes in a more challenging direktion. By now drugs have taken over and this bass can only be the anchor if you go all in. Attacking, mean, and relentness, this is for crazy hours. Take me to Saturn, Oslo. Did I say I was in?
#9. Ralph Knobloch is a long time act of GF Records. This is one of his early releases and an untouchable example of his creativity. 2008 Goa Full On psychedelic trance madness with no holds barred. What an end to the journey that is Imaginarity! This is danceable and utterly psychedelic all at once and I am completely entertained and impressed. No wonder Switzerland teamed up with Macedonia. From here the Braincell only got better.
I would call this an essentiel for a Full on follower. There’s just too many damn gods tracks. I really, really like this compilation.
The artwork also deserves a comment. Beautiful.
Trold - Time Of Illusion - 05-Oct-08 05:28 AM
In the universe that has been psytrance since 1995 now and then, as a dedicated follower, you stumble over an album you believe should set a reference mark for music to come. I had expectations that Time Of Illusion might be one of those albums. It proved to be.
I love Goa. I think the return of Goa that, notably, Suntrip is advocating is wonderful. Goa music has much more to offer. Yet, I think if this approach is accompanied by a dismissal of todays norm (full on) it misses out on todays headlines. Full on basslines can be invigorating and Goa isn't exclusively for the hippies. Tell me you can't dance to that bassline and that those fx aren't trippy. These ears want both equally!
Trold is offering the hybrid. Full on bassline to hypnotize and provide a cool factor and fx to keep me interested. This is music with potential to move any dance floor and intelligence to entertain any psychedelic follower. If Koxbox walked among gods in 1995, Astrix was a big inspiration in 2002 and Rabbit From Darkside became a reference mark in 2004 Time Of Illusion is officially my new ticket to psychedelia.
Thank you Macedonia and thank you Growing Flame Records. You’ve rapidly climbed high on my ladder of must-follow labels. Take a bow! Damn. This is good stuff.
Tsuyoshi Suzuki - Global PsyTrance - Matsurhythm - 04-Oct-08 09:20 AM
Judging from the opening three tracks you get the feeling Japan’s undisputably most famous psy Dj has missed the scene! Damn, this compilation is coming off to a flying start. Full on psytrance with goa twist spins these first tracks way up my ladder of appreciation. This is where the psytrance scene should be heading in my humble opinion and mixed as this cd comes it’s such a thrill to be onboard Tsuyoshi’s party plane. This quarter of the album would split my bones to atoms on the dance floor.
Likewise Goblin Fever, L Bit and Screaming People sticks to the full on formula with success. Great tracks even if they may not reach the heights of the opening three tracks.
Regrettably, Tsuyoshi has a fondness for guitars and that ruins my interest in several of the remaining tracks. Rezwalker, Dynamic and Deep Purple Haze are by no means without appeal but when psy tries to go cool with electric guitars you’ll see these bones fleeing the dance floor faster than a speeding bullet. Jikes … If you’re into Heavy Psy and follow Nine Inch Nail you should have a field day with Electric Feed, though.
Alas, this album ranges from pure bliss dancer to heart wreckening cancer. So to speak. I mean it’s hard to fathom it’s the same guy opening that closes with vocals and guitars on some updated 2 Unlimited track. Gruesome! Fortunately, the good tracks outweigh the weak and in my book this is still a safe purchase.
Oh, and welcome back :o)
Morrissey - My Early Burglary Years - 27-Sep-08 08:05 AM
Less you’re hard core and need everything Morrissey has released the trick in the flod of Morrissey compilations is to find the ones that offers decent off tracks. Or a tacky badge. That having been said you might wanna think twice before purchasing My Early Burglary Years.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m as huge a Mozzer fan as most devoted followers but even we now and then have to look objectively at his releases. Well, my Morrissey catalogue will do fine without At Amber, Cosmic Dancer, A Swallow On My Neck or Black-Eyed Susan. And do I need to hear Morrissey joke his way through Sister I’m a Poet when his passion in the original is so much more fulfilling?
Luckily, there are still a couple of off tracks that fit’s the Mozzzer bill. Nobody Loves Us, Girl Least Likely To, Pashernate Love and I've Changed My Plea To Guilty sees Morrissey coming home safe. Whether they propel My Early Burglary Years (anywhere) near essential, though, is a question of devotion.
My suggestion? Go with World Of Morrissey from the year before. The album inclusions easily compare with the selections on My Early burglary Years and, more importantly, the off tracks are way, way better.
