Brisk - 03-Sep-08 08:53 PM
I started listen to Techno and Hardcore in the beginning of the 90s. First there were some German releases that were very new and very danceable to that time. After that i was into Dutch Hardcore and Gabber, presenting the harder way of technical computer-music. When i play some old CDs or records of this time, i understand, that a lot of people didn´t like "techno" in these days and i can´t listen to it nowadays, too. The only style of that decade i love to hear and collect even today, is the UK Happy Hardcore style that raised in the beginnig of the 90s. These tracks are so uplifting and euphoric powerfull, with the fast piano-breaks, kickin bassdrums and real voices (instead of the pitched hamster-vocals in dutch HHC). One of my favorites now and then was DJ Brisk. His own productions like "Eye-Opener", "Air Head" or "Floor Friction" are THE classics of that era. With his remix skills, he made a lot of trax also to unforgetable hits, like "95 Style", "Love Life and Happyness" or "Wonderfull World". His DJ-sets Happyhardcorefoundation 1-3 was a ´state of the art´ selection of the best trax around, from Hardcore to Hard Dance and Freeform, mixed in a technical perfect way. IMO Brisk was the best artist who belongs to the UK-HHC scene... I hope his 90s-style will come back one day!!!
Donna* - Feel The Love / Keep On Loving - 03-Sep-08 08:28 PM
One of the essential must-have in every mid 90s HHC-collection, released on the lable that represented the UK Happy style like no other to this time.
Feel the Love - bouncing bassdrum besides energetic synths.
Keep on Loving - underrated floor-filler with a heavy bassline and Donnas´ beautyful voice ...
great record!!
check out the other tracks on Stompin Choonz by JDS, Terrible Twins, Helix etc... The definition of the UK-style. Time for a rebirth of this music! kicking and uplifting!
Various - Happy Hardcore Foundation - 13-May-04 02:09 AM
The Creme de la Creme of the UK-Happy Hardcore scene melted by DJ Brisk. If you like sugar-sweet melodies and pumping bassdrums combined with female voices this is your CD! Sonic anti-depressiva. Fast, happy and makes you dance! SMILE!
Doof - It's About Time - 10-Jan-04 11:43 AM
If you have heard the brillant "Lets turn on" - CD by Doof, this album is perhaps not the kind of music you would expected... A lot of quite tracks without the typical psychoactive elements we know from his remixes and other tracks. On the other hand, the zenith of the so called ´real´ Goa music, consisting of these psychedelic elements was passed when this CD was released... Anyway, it can´t reach the party-dance-factor like the "Lets turn on"-Album...but its great for homelistening.
Hallucinogen - Twisted - 19-Sep-03 02:34 AM
As Simon Posfords project name says... its a Hallucinogen. If you can enter these sound-realms, you won´t need any drugs to experience his psychedelic masterpieces. Every track is filled up with great effects, wonderfull melodys and solid bass-and drumlines that will take you on a colorfull sonic-trip. Its a basic in every Psy-Trance collection.
