Various - Neurological Broadband - 06-Nov-08 04:28 PM
Hmm, it's alway a delight to get such good music for free! If you are searching for a new collection of sounds to chill out, try this one. The tracks are not the most innovative ones of all times, but all of them are of high musical quality and very well mastered.
My favourite here is definitly the downbeat tune "Time To Sleep" by Bem-Pole Connection: Incredibly trippy sounds, a funky bassline and a very imaginative atmosphere, if you know what I mean.
There are also some Progressive Psytrance tunes, the more quieter sort. Logarytm's "Baby Boom Killer" is very great track with robotic voices and trippy sounds, would be perfect for night driving.
With "Neurological Broadband" you become many good and some very great tracks for no money, so just take it!

November Növelet - Sacred - 16-Oct-08 08:31 AM
If you like the sound of November Növelets "Magic, in my opinion one of the best releases in 2007, then "Sacred" is for you. Four deep sinister electronic songs, again with the enchanting synthie sounds that made "Magic" so wonderful and the absent voice of Mrs. Arafna. As you can see on the pictures for this release, the backside of the cover contains all the lyrics and a handwritten limitation of 806. So hurry up, if you want your exemplar. Lovers of "Magic" just can't miss it...

Hermann Kopp - Under A Demon's Mask - 15-Oct-08 05:32 PM
This one sounds like music played in an abandoned theatre by an orchestra of skeletons.
Haunting, creepy, sinister, ill: These are some words that come to my mind when I listen to this record. I mean that in a positive way, of course. The most tracks work with disharmonic strings and strange synthie sounds, some of them with spoken words in German and French. "Under A Demon's Mask" is definitly an outstanding record, even for Galakthorrö. But in terms of real frightening and beautiful dark music, it fits to the other artists on the label.
As usal for Galakthorrö releases, the CD comes with a beautiful booklet that contains photos to visualize the atmosphere of the music and all the lyrics.
Definitly a record for the advanced listener but if you are searching for really sinister music, that is far away from being cheesy, try this one!

Can - Anthology - Remastered Edition - 09-Oct-08 02:41 PM
This 2CD set works great as an entrance ticket into the large variety of Can's sound. It contains songs of every Can record released, in a very good sound quality. The booklet with many photos and a very interesting written band history ia also great and not usual for such Best Of Compilations.
But I only give 4 stars because some songs are fade out versions, for example "Mother Sky". I think a third CD would have been better than mutilating the songs like this.

Tangerine Dream - Alpha Centauri - 06-Oct-08 09:47 AM
This one became instantly one of my favorite "cosmic" records. Read the track titles and you know what you can expect: Intergalactic music for tripping away, even when you are not taking drugs.
The music is not really complicated, but the atmosphere it creates is just incredible.
"Sunrise In The Sird System" begins very slowly and maintains a steady tension with more and more strings and pulsating synth sounds. The only negative point about this track is, that it is too short.
According to the title "Fly And Collision Of Coma Sola" is divided in several parts. There's an ambient part at the beginning (the flight?) that is followed by a synthesizer transition and then the last part, containing of really moving drums (the collison?).
"Alpha Cebtauri" is even more incredible like the two other tracks, a beautiful, very long ambient track with some german voices as a climax, speaking about god, the cosmos and mankind.
This edition of the record also contains "Ultima Thule pt.1" as a bonus track. This song doesn't really fit to the other tracks, but anyway, it's a great piece of music too, and not such easy to get as other Tangerine Dream material.
It's not hard to find this record, so if you are a fan of spacey music, get it or you miss something!
