Depeche Mode - Sounds Of The Universe - 17-May-09 05:22 AM
My opinion about this record is somewhere in the middle of the two previous reviews here. "Sounds of the Universe" is a record that doesnt hurt, but there is also not much to catch my attention, neither in a negative nor in a positive way. The analog sounds of the songs are great if you like electronic music, but I think the weak point is that almost every song gets out of breath, this record just misses climaxes. Its hard to say this about a record of this band, but "Sounds of the Universe" is almost well produced background music. So its a typical 3/5 for me.

Various - Kosmoloko - 03-May-09 06:18 AM
High quality compilation from one of the best labels out there. Like you expect from Galakthorrö, all artists deliver great, deep and dark tracks here with no exeptions.
I have to put special attention on the track "Ocean" by Maska Gentik. Its in my opinion one of the most intense pieces of sinister music ever created. The brooding atmosphere and the fascinating subliminal tension of this track makes your heart freeze, even on a hot summer day. Absolutely stunning! Lets hope this talented artist releases some more music in the future.

Maska Genetik - Quarantine - 18-Jan-09 03:32 PM
"Ocean" and "White Tracks" by Maska Genetik were always my personal favourites on the great Galakthorrö Sampler "Kosmoloko", so I always looked forward for a realease of this artist. This EP was really worth the waiting. Even if the tracks are more quieter than the two songs on "Kosmoloko", they create the same intense, hypnotic and sinister atmosphere of melancholy and desperation. The listener is drawn into a vortex of pulsating analog electronic soundscapes and a whispering, screaming and sometimes absent voice. Especially the climax of "Moments Of Truth", when the voice sets in, is one of the most touching moments in industrial music, I heard so far. Four tracks whose moods are just too sad for daily listening, too melancholy for most of the people and therefore a highlight for everyone who understands whats this kind of music all about. Lets hope that this EP wasnt the last release of this incredibly talented artist!

Various - Neurological Broadband - 06-Nov-08 04:28 PM
Hmm, its alway a delight to get such good music for free! If you are searching for a new collection of sounds to chill out, try this one. The tracks are not the most innovative ones of all times, but all of them are of high musical quality and very well mastered.
My favourite here is definitly the downbeat tune "Time To Sleep" by Bem-Pole Connection: Incredibly trippy sounds, a funky bassline and a very imaginative atmosphere, if you know what I mean.
There are also some Progressive Psytrance tunes, the more quieter sort. Logarytms "Baby Boom Killer" is very great track with robotic voices and trippy sounds, would be perfect for night driving.
With "Neurological Broadband" you become many good and some very great tracks for no money, so just take it!

November Növelet - Sacred - 16-Oct-08 08:31 AM
If you like the sound of November Növelets "Magic, in my opinion one of the best releases in 2007, then "Sacred" is for you. Four deep sinister electronic songs, again with the enchanting synthie sounds that made "Magic" so wonderful and the absent voice of Mrs. Arafna. As you can see on the pictures for this release, the backside of the cover contains all the lyrics and a handwritten limitation of 806. So hurry up, if you want your exemplar. Lovers of "Magic" just cant miss it...
