Reviews & Discussion:

An extremely dissapointing release. I had high hopes for this one when I first heard about it, mostly due to it including a remix of A-Tension's rave classic "Angels" and because it would include an "unreleased" remix of an Ultra-Sonic track.

Instead, what what's included is 3 mixes that in no way pay justice to the impressive back catalog of Clubscene Records.

The Delegate remix of "Check Your Head" is listenable, but like most new remixes of US tracks, takes away the party feel of the original which is the reason why it is so popular. As for being unreleased, it was released on Dinky in 2003. The remix of "Angels" is just terrible - a 3/4 paced eurotrance track that leaves you wondering when, and infact why, you would play it. "Soap On A Rope" at least is the original, but of the 3 tracks chosen, sounds very dated these days.

Its quite unfortunate how this release turned out. My tip is to skip this release and find the originals of "Check Your Head" and "Angels" and experience why these tracks became classics in the first place.
An absolutely terrible remix of Renegade Master. Uses to the fullest the wooden, hollow hard hard/hard-NRG sound which is quite unbearable. Makes you think of podiums and whistles...
Tricka Technology was definetly the party track of the last two years. As soon as "Well let the games begin" kicked in you could always see a huge smile on everyone's faces, and if the dancefloor was ever empty this is the track that would get the people on their feet. While it has been (almost hugely) overplayed, the remake with additional rapping has given it a new lease on life, although it is the original that most people would recognise. Highly recommended for all breaks and funk fans, although it would be difficult to find anyone that finds this record unappealing.
A terrific example of why trance has such a bad name (well, in these parts anyway;) Boring as hell, cheesy beats and without any emotion at all. The film clip is just as bad with the pretty green-eyed chick flailing around half naked.

The only good thing to come out of this is the hardcore remix by Hixxy, Styles & Breeze (which no surprise is definetly not on the All Around The World releases of this track.) A storming track where the main melody is actually enjoyable and the vocals seem to somewhat fit in (or at least seem a bit more natural.) Exactly what you'd expect from the three - quality UK uplifting hardcore.
If it weren't for the CJ Bolland mix on the b-side of this, there would be no way that this would probably ever come out of my crate. Oakenfold has taken an absolute classic and pretty much massacred it. The breakbeat at the end is quality but its a case of far too little, far too late. This should have definetly remained as a 'rave' track, rather thne being made into a pale-imitation trance track.

And for those who have never heard the Prophet saying "Come With Me" in this remix, you can be thankful. While Bolland's Prophet had that menacing authenticity in his voice, Oakenfold's Prophet with his gruff voice is just cringe-worthy, and gives you the impression that he's gonna be pretty lonely, cause more then likely no-one will follow him.
A remix that adds very little to the original. While certainly harder and faster then the Faithless classic, there's just not enough there for it to fit into a hard/driving trance set. And by changing Maxi Jazz's haunting vocals to ones done in a rougher German accent, they have raised the cheese factor and greatly dimished their effect on the overall song.

That being said, the track stil retains its main melody and is certainly listenable, however if you have the original I see no real reason why you would choose this one over that.
Mispressings of this exist with both sides containing BT's Fibonacci Sequence.
The original is a more straight-foward trance mix, nothing that special, althought not too bad.

The Michael Fusseder remix is awesome however. A fantastic driving, hard trance mix that has become one of the signiture sounds of Sydney's hard trance scene. A Subbies track if there ever was one. Definetly one for the big room at peak time.
A quality early release from the Gatecrasher stable. This is a very contrasting release though. Disc 1 has a much more housey feel to it with tracks such as Repeated love and Deeper Underground. Not bad, but not what you'd expect from Gatecrasher.

However, disc 2 picks up from this and is one of the best trance mixes I have heard. The track selection is awesome, both with the tracks that have had much success (such as For An Angel) as well as those not as well know. The mixing is seemless/dangerous also.

So while disc 1 is a bit of a let down, disc 2 more then makesup for it.
2 excellent yet contrasting remixes. The Chab remix is more progressive with a tribally beat throughout it. The Riva remix is what you would expect from Riva - very uplifting, and although sometimes appears to have a bit too much going on at once, is definetly one to move your feet to.
