Master Maximum Trance Traxx - 28-Oct-04 06:11 AM
The best Hardtrance label ever!! Started in 1995 with a release from DJ M-Zone, it seems that the latest releases on it were made in 1997.

If you like fast and powerful Hardtrance, you'd better try to listen to the tunes that are listed here...

In my opinion, only Uranus - Flowed On A Vibe (MMTT1003) and M-Zone - Complete Runaround (MMTT1004) are not as good as the others...indeed, the Uranus record has a vocal which makes me wonder what the producers were thinking at when they decided not to make any instrumental version. Concerning the M-Zone tune, there's not much to say, it seems he tried something and failed...if you listen to Swiss Cheese (Yodeling), you'll understand what I mean...

Out of these two, the others are true rave classics and should be played as loud and as fast as possible!! Especially Silverplate - Attention and Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Party EP, my two favourites...

Commander Tom - Volume One - 13-Aug-04 03:20 AM
"Are Am Eye?" is one of the rare good old Hardtrance track which is still played at our time in parties or in clubs. It's the kind of classics (such as "Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth") which seem to have always (and only...) positive reactions from the crowd. For the people who know it, it's a return to the old days, back in 1995. For the people who don't know it, I reckon they just wonder "Hell, what's this dancefloor killer!?! It's much much better than current Trance or Progressive Trance..."

So far, I had the tune only on the double 12" "Five Phases Of The Noom" and recently, I found the original Noom 013...on white vinyl!!

Asem Shama - The Gateway - 10-Apr-04 02:06 PM
A great Techno record!

The Gateway samples a discussion taken from the movie "Event Horizon". When Dr. William Weir (Sam Neill) explains to the crew how his spaceship (the Event Horizon precisely) works and particularly the way the black hole works...conclusion from Lt. Starck:

Black hole? The most destructive force in the universe...and you've created one?

This tune is a destructive force in the universe as well...

DJ Snowman - 11-Feb-04 05:43 PM
DJ Snowman is the DJ that influenced the most my way of mixing. When I discovered Hardtrance, in 1999, I was given some tapes including a few ones mixed by DJ Snowman (mixed between 1994 and 1998) and I immediately appreciated his style. Fast, melodic, acid, etc...He was able to mix all the style that I like and apart from that, I liked so much the way he mixed. Really clean and always the good choice of tunes which suited so well...Most of the records I'm very attached to were firstly heared on one of his tapes.

Nowadays he's just one of those "famous" swiss DJs that are residents in the biggest clubs and who play this commercial style between Trance, Progressive Trance and Hardstyle...What a pity...It's sad but I'm nostalgic of a period I haven't even known and very often, when I listen to a fast Hardtrance mix, I wonder how it is possible that Trance changed in that way...Peace!

Omega Force - Lyrical Bassdrum - 24-Sep-03 03:43 PM
"Lyrical Bassdrum" is in my opinion an absolut classic.

Indeed there is a very stirring beat and melody but what makes this track so special for me is the sample taken from "I have a dream" the famous speech from Martin Luther King...

When you pitch it right (that means between 6% and 8% for me, but I'm a bit crazy...) it's so motivating to hear the voice saying "I've seeeeeeen! The promised land!" and the bass kicking hard between the lyrics...Yeah! That's what people want... :)
