Profile: I've sold most of my records now and have saved what I would call "the cream". I was planning to call it a day and maybe sell a few more but I've received some very usefull tip offs in the forums so looks like its time to start record hunting again. I mostly listen to Techno/Electronica but I also have a soft spot for classical music and HIP HOP. I'm not really too mad about this new type of electronica that seems to be filling the record shops at the moment eg SKAM and APHEX TWIN
I will be adding more as and when I have some spare time

Black Dog Productions - 24-Jun-03 03:44 PM
Innovative early techno label set up by The Black Dog out of frustration from being unable to find a label to back them. First 1000 copies of bd001 were distrubuted by hand themselves driving about London in an old van, selling small batches of 10 and 20 copies. Greyhound then picked up the distribution but sadly killed the label after "accidently" melting 500 copies of Techno Playtime (BD003).
Black Dog, The - Techno Playtime EP - 11-Jun-03 05:54 PM
only 500 copies remain, after greyhound claimed they melted them due to lack of shelf space. Perhaps they were melted, but not before some of the staff members helped themselves to free copies.
Black Dog then moved to GPR records because all their cash was tied up in these 500 records that were melted.
Black Dog With Black Sifichi, The* - Unsavoury Products - 11-Jun-03 05:44 PM
if you are expecting Bytes then look elsewhere, but if you fancy something a little different that check this release by the last surviving member of Black Dog productions. There are some shocking moments - a very brave and bold project, stunning production values.
Black Dog, The - Age Of Slack - 11-Jun-03 05:34 PM
very rare EP, limited to just 1000 copies. Also referred to as the Dogism EP due to the cover graphics.
LA Synthesis - 11-Jun-03 05:27 PM
One of the chaps from LA Synthesis worked in a second hand hi fi shop just down the road from me. They got themselves into a shady contract with Mr C and were not treated that well, pity coz with a little more dosh behind them they could have carried on. Everything they did release was truly superb, and that agraphobia is one of my favourite records, although I still dont actually own a copy.
They wont release anything now, I think the last release was on CARL COXs label, which has a wicked track on the B SIDE co-produced by TOM MIDDLETON. They also contributed a track to Rosss label, district SIX.
Anyone into the detroit sound should check these guys, theres one release on the Evolution label that has a track called Harmonic Dissembly, if ever you hear the Jedi Knights play out your bound to hear them drop this - serious electro for the dancefloor!!!!!!!!!!
