Profile: I've stopped collecting over the years. My collection has not grown much in recent times. From a present financial stand point it is difficult to collect the way I used to however, my records are not for sale and I hope to continue my collecting. As for now, if I'm feeling new shit released I will be purchasing for DL and you can find me on soulseek combing the program for mp3s of rarities I either own, can not find, or IMO is too expensive for me to purchase. A label responsible for recognotion in Bass music and attempts at getting this music heard by mainstream America when Bass music was shaking the world in the South Eastern United States in the late eighties. All though Success-n-Effect may have been the only artists on the imprint to live that up as Bass music has never seen much radio play out of the state where it's inception commenced, Florida. Bass music kind of faded out during the mid-late nineties when Hip Hop artists from the Southern US were incorporating more of the ever so popular gangster/pimpin vibe in their music. But Bass music has been re-birthed here in the late 2000's by underground Electro artists from Florida rocking dancefloors locally. The The label has been defunct for 15 years now. Some really good releases here.
I remember being at Spring Break in Daytona Beach in the mid nineties. The Slip n Slide team before it's inception were partying at a hotel room on the second floor. On their balcony they had a Slip n Slide banner draped over and the bacony railing outdoors and they were passing out these promos. I was lucky enough to get one. The track "1990 Until..." has a sample of the melody Whoudini's "Five Minutes Of Funk" and some really cool strings. The track is also a dis of the late Notorious BIG and Junior Mafia as they were big at the time. Don't know how the beef started or if there ever was any. This was released before Trick Daddy blew up and came out before his first album. All though this 12" was never released as anything but the promo. There was also a promotional CD release and I was happy to get both as they were passing them out.
Dr Break - 1983 Apr 14, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Man, this plate's awesome. Three quality cuts. i love the old school Shiver acid lines in 1983 (main dropper) and the track Spinnah is just old school delight. Really dope record IMO. Eric's return is a masterpiece. 3 sick joints.. I had to buy two.
Vanguard - 1bit Bass Apr 08, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
"Stay Centered" is the most aberrant piece of electro mastery I have ever heard. The reggae vox is an ingenius touch to this modern, elemental electro track that Vanguard can make with the best of them.

"Chrome Ozone" is just sick. The only track not included on the CD format of this LP. It's haunted chords are lush and intimidating and IMO is the ultimate arcade funk track. Would be a killer late night tip track to throw on in the mid morning hours at a party.
