Reviews & Discussion:
That Sound contains "that sound" that you want to hear over and over again. The tastful strings that fade away vaguely in the couplets and played full volume in the chorus just make this track. The vocals are alright and Full Intention added a fine remix to this oldie (released: 1999). It never became a commercial success, but it had certainly potency for such rating. Who knows Moog releases again in the nearby future?
Released in 2003, i heard it for the first time january 2005. It didn't matter really. It stayed for 6 months on my MP3-player and i couldn't get enough of it. By far one of the best remixes the master Grant Nelson produced in a long time. More uptempo than the original acid-jazz 'Too young to die' version from 1993, Grant has the unique ability to create the for his remixes so typical latin surroundings (bass, beat, percussion) with some stunning instrumental solo's to give the track a magic spin. In my book one of the best groovy house-tracks ever produced.
When listening, the song brings you back into the seventies disco-dimension. The debut CD "Now Phats What I Small Music" was the venue album for this, in a quick first spin, not very special housetrack. Although i listened to it more often, i discovered how well the song is build up. Some cheesy trumpets added and the regularly returning deep discovibes bring me in ecstacy everytime i hear 'Theme From Sauce'. Nice tune before going out to a funky houseparty on a saturdaynight. I always thought: if someone added some flowing vocals to this classic, it would score pretty high in the national charts. However, until now it never happened... | ||||
