Various - The Menu - 10 Fresh Slices "Á La Carte" - 14-Nov-05 02:22 PM
A compilation of artists from all over Europe (France, UK, Switzerland, Italy), "The Menu" can be considered as a sampler of future productions to be put out on Big Cheese Records or on its division Plug It! Records. Released like a 'Best of', "The Menu" offers 10 new tracks (Jazz-Funk, Acid-Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop) with the participation of Unik Records and Right Tempo.

Big Cheese All Stars, The - I'm Gonna Love You (Remixes) - 14-Nov-05 02:22 PM
This is the first single from the Big Cheese All Stars debut album "Prawns", with three very different versions of the classic Barry White anthem "I'm Gonna Love You", all featuring Sharon Scott on vocals.

First up are the 7" and 12" of love mixes (produced by Orlando "The Don" Lund) which feature live strings and combine the soul of the original with upfront beats.

Next is the Hip-Hop mix (produced by Charlie '6/8' Tate): a stripped down drum and bass version, strictly for the dance floor.

Thirdly there is the Meateater mix (produced by Ralph Lamb and Jake Wherry from Herbaliser): perhaps the most versatile of all the mixes.

Batu - Seasons Of My Mind / Hold It Now - 14-Nov-05 12:21 AM
A mixture of Funk and Brasilian rythms, Batu's music is earth-bound, employing a bare minimum of technology. Co-produced by Patrick Forge (Kiss FM London), this is positive spirit music from skin and wood.

Schkoonk! - La Source De Mon Bonheur - 14-Nov-05 12:11 AM
First single from Schkoonk!'s debut album "Sur Les Pavés" is a dedication to the two rapper's "chef d'oeuvre": their childrens.

Produced by Dj Kurser, recorded by JC Concato (US3), mixed by Tony Smalios (Mobb Deep, A Tribe Called Quest) and mastered by Tom "kick in yer groin'Coine", this track represents the group's outlook by contrasting the innocence of a child with the corruption of this world.

Big Cheese All Stars, The - Prawns - 13-Nov-05 08:21 AM
Recorded in the Wessex Studios (UK) in the beginning of 1995, this very first album of the "Big Cheese All Stars" gathers 12 Soul-Jazz-Funk tracks. 6 songs from Sharon Scott, 4 instrumentals (including "''10", a 12 minutes jazz-funk pearl!), and 2 interludes (+ 1 extra track).

Fully recorded live thus translating the astonishing communion between the musicians, the album retransmits this enthusiasm, reinforced by the incredible shape of the rhythm section and the exceptional stamp of Sharon Scott's voice.
