Reviews & Discussion:

'Disco Child' is an edit of Chal Disco Chal by Sharon and Musarrat. A really nice and uplifting Indian disco song. This edit makes no sense, maybe mr Burns wanted to cut out the so calles cheesy parts. But what he forgot was that they make the balance of the song just right, and make the funky parts even better. As with most edits, you better buy the original. For genuine edits that makes sense, get some Loud-E, Jaz, Black Cock or some Pilooski.
Hypno Dance by Who's Who (Palace Palace) is a much sought after song and goes for top-prices on the net. It's availabe on the Who's Who album and on the b-side of a 7". Both very hard to get
It's a brilliant sleazy disco-record with a sort of eastern feel to it. It was very rare, and in my opinion that rareness added some value to this record: you dont'find diamonds every day.
This Rubber Room edit takes away all the fun.

The other side is an edit of "Take me to your heart" by the Eurythmics. A brilliant song that's on the "In the garden" album. Which is not hard to find and has other beautiful songs at well (some have Czukay and Liebezeit on production. Better buy that album. This edit makes no sense.
Since my fascination for Hardy's mixtapes, it was the 'Your Mind' track that became my nr 1 house record of all times, and the most desirable, due to the fact that it was never released on vinyl. I've also understood that this track is known as the 'holy grail' of house music according to music and house fans all over the world.
The track itself (the 2nd mix) is a very stripped down (minimal if you want)record containing elements of Novaga's Faces Drums and a repeating voice. In the midlle at it's climax there's a little Mirage-sound (if you pay notice) You have to hear it to believe that this is one of the most powerful, dark, atmospheric and insane track there's ever made.

And now it's available on vinyl
Unfortunately it's a bootleg and the sound is terrible (because of the orignal tapes). In fact the record is unplayable for the clubs. But maybe that is a good thing, because when it is played out everywhere, it looses some of it's magic.
Conclusion: brilliant music, bad medium.
Soundtrack from the animated movie by 10cc member Gouldman
Very nice all the way, but the stand out track is 'Bionic Boar' which has a very 'cosmic' feel and is played by DJ's as Beppe Loda and - more recent - Balearic Mike. Wonderful track.
It's not very hard to get on vinyl, here in Holland I see it very often for 1 or 2 euro's. So don't be fooled by people who thinks that when a record is played by respected DJ's, they could ask much money for it.
Blackway - New Life / Follow Me Feb 24, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
Music from another world. A world wich lacks the common 'rules' of making music. 'Follow me' is such genuine piece of music. The guys of Blackway has their own vision of electronic 'Italo Disco music' It's dark, it's catchy in its own way and there is nothing, really nothin you can compare to this tune. This guys creates their own genre.
Shins, The - Wincing The Night Away Feb 24, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
'Chutes too narrow' was a nr. 1 on many end-years lists of 2005. The Shins with their melodic, catchy pop music (Beach Boys directly comes to mind) was finally discovered after the - maybe more genuine- album 'Oh, inverted world'. This new album is probably their best. Listen and believe!
