Banco De Gaia - 10 Years (Remixed) - 19-Mar-04 01:13 PM
One of the best remix albums out there today, so many different styles of music on one disc. This is Banco de Gaia, but possibly not as you have previously heard them.
If you know Banco de Gaia really well, then you'll probably appreciate the first track. Although it is called Lai Lah, Eat Static has created an amazing audio cocktail of samples and vocals spanning the entire history of the first 5 CD BdG albums. Ever heard the expression "everything but the kitchen sink"? It really does have everything!
The rest of the album continues with a very jazzed up version of Celestine, a haunting drum & bass remix of Glove Puppet and an excellent "heavy metal" styled version of Drippy, fantastic.
I could go on forever about how diverse this album is, but I won’t. Even if you are just a fan of one or two of their tracks, buy it and give it a listen, you won't be disappointed!
Sagitaire - Shout (C'mon) - 26-Aug-03 02:25 PM
It doesn't quite compare to The Shamen - Ebeneezer Goode, but there is a similarity...
After the chorus and break down, the words "these are the, these are the..." are repeated several times. Listen closely, it sounds more like "I love E's, I love e's...".
M-Age - Under A Cubic Sky - 08-Jul-03 04:14 AM
An excellent ambient release from Rising High.
The highlight of this album for me is Visitor, remixed by Air Liquide. It's a gentle (in places), haunting little acid track, that does not want to stop. Cure II and Sample Return Reprise are also 2 of the best chill-out tracks I've heard.
Various - Café Del Mar Volumen Ocho - 23-Apr-03 03:03 PM
If anyone is looking for the "original" American Beauty theme(not the Jakatta version), I suggest you have a listen to track 2, fantastic!
Delerium - Silence (Fade Mixes) - 05-Jan-03 03:53 PM
This is so much better than the more recent DJ Tiësto remix, slower, with a deep bassline.
To me, it is so powerful, emotionally, it could make me cry! ;-)
