Reviews & Discussion:

Four great mixes, Ayklogic Refix is just the pick of the bunch for me but don't tell Sir Tuffy. Leading the way in the re-emergence of the bumpy garage style that was so popular when Tuff Jam and Todd Edwards first hit the scene. This new breed of producers are coming through and showing they can mix it with the established names. Surely more big things to come from these names in 2010. Toptune with exclusive presses of this so check us out to be the first to drop this.
A bit more brutal than Try Me Out, Cheque One-Two brings in a bit more venom and mood. A massive track back in early "00's" I've got to admit i'm not as fond of it now! I have to agree with djnv11's comments on Cheque One's YouTube clip that "rb gets a bit annoying after a while". Yea never noticed that but he gives me a headache after a few minutes.

A good track for back in the day but if i'm going with Sunship or RB now, Smooth Operator and Try Me Out and definitely a step ahead on the pecking order and near the top of the list..

No offence!
Sunship - Try Me Out Sep 19, 2009
Try Me Out is the Sunship smasher that everyone UKG knows, although the group is notable for lots of undercover remix work when asked for a Sunship track "Try Me Out" is their benchmark and ahead of the game!

Classic dancefloor filler of around / pre "00". I'm sure you will agree RB on the mic adds to the groove. Never could tell what he said live but much of the time he mixed up the rhyme...

"na nana na nana na na nana na na, na nana na house & garage na nana..."

It was all about RB from back in the day hosting nights like Future Funk and giving them a boost-up in the vybe.

Classic "Top Quality" feel good stuff on this 12".

"This ones wicked without a doubt!"
I got beef once, it was not pretty.
MJ Cole showing he has his finger on the pulse, either that or his policy of remixing just about anything means he hits a cocunut every now again.
I think I read somewhere, probably the metro, that MJ Cole could not decide which new urban artist to remix next and Rodney P, of all people, suggested putting Shystie's, Gemma Fox's and Lady Sovereign's names into a hat. He pulled Shystie's name out of the hat, dusted down the glockenspeel and the rest is history.
Duncan Powell was a troublesome tot and his Polish nanny Nadia had a terrible time trying to get him down for his afternoon nap.
One fateful afternoon Nadia turned on the radio and 702, the poor man's En Vogue, were belting out their RnB smash. Nadia was a self confessed Happy Hardcore head but did manage to curb her tastes that afternoon and Duncan slept like a baby. Nadia was deported back to Poland just after neighbours and didnt get a chance to pass on her new found technique for getting Duncan off.
The popularity of facebook reunited Duncan and Nadia a few years ago and Nadia revealed this story to Duncan.
He headed down to the studio the following day and chopped the tune up as a tribute to Nadia.
The rest is history.
Ive never heard this track oot & aboot but its alright you know.
DT's lyrics over three variations on a theme, all of which would be non starters as instrumentals but all of which actually work quite well with DT going through his catalogue.
Particularly like Jump Up Bouncy as it has a unique sound.
Worth a listen but this one is not gonna go down in history as a classic. Strange how very few MC's can be put on to a record with any degree of success, MC's Neat, Sparks & Kie apart.
You got to give it to me give it to me give it to me yeah.
Big tune. This one is as large as the horse & barge, harefield crew where you be?
On a more serious note I do love this tune. Stonebridge know how to do pop-house, just give them the vocal and off they go. Great intro that rides on the cusp and then kicks on.
Released in many different formats but as long as it has the stonebridge club mix its happy days.
Infamous 3 no doubt deliver a bumpy bass 'n' steppy track on the a side with "what u gonna do". The sound rings true of many a DEA Project track and as Subfunk has a DEA release or two up it's sleeve I wouldn't be surprised if this has something to do with some of those elusive cheeky chaps in or alongside the Infamous 3!

The B side delivers some jazzy 2 step, to compliment the A sides more mainstream feel.

Ginuwine - Holler Jun 02, 2008
This track is the absolute definition of a speed garage wharper. Little known Genuine track given the treatment and then some by 'Strike'?, is this really from the same people who brought us the Euro House classic 'U Sure Do'?
Monster bassline to rival god unlimited & Reach & Spin - Hype Funk. Ultra rare and adored by the masses of speed garage fans across the land.
If you come across this one grab it with both hands.
Even the hardest Grime Head must get a couple of goose bumps when this one slides into the mix. K Warren maximises the vocals and showcases the Vocal 2 Step genre. Me and my crew just love this one. Ultra rare and didnt get rinsed back in the day so limited copies pressed. If you own this one chances are it isnt for sale.
Keep your eyes peeled though cos they are floating about.
Biggest tune on the Outlaw label for sure!
