Maltese Massive - La Nuela / Confusion - 01-Dec-06 06:02 AM
This is simply a quirky, bouncy House record with enlightening female vocal stabs. A record which led me away from cartoon Hardcore/Rave music and into House music, and many other Rhythm Masters productions of the mid 1990s. The parent label of Labello Dance was Labello Blanco Recordings, a label involving itself in Hardcore and Drum & Bass. They knew this genre was fading and so lauched their House subsidiary in 1994.
Happy Clappers - I Believe - 21-Aug-06 11:58 AM
Another ave'in it 1994 house tune. No vocal chorus, just a jagged electronic piano riff, with plucky vocal stabs. It a full on uplifting summer anthem, with a striking piano riff at its heart. First heard it on BPM (UK Channel 4) dance show in 1994.
KGB, The* - Burnin' Like Fire - 21-Aug-06 11:58 AM
Iv never ever heard a breakdown riff like the echoey one on this record before. Not even now. Typical, hip hop breakbeat elements on this record, but under the tempo of a house beat. Upfront vocal stabs with a carnival piano riff near the end of this track. So typical of the house being produced between 1994 and 1995.
Route 66 - Revolution - 20-Aug-06 08:38 AM
This tune is a tale of two halfs. It starts off hard, with a male rap on top of menacing house drums and bongos, then introduces a bassline that blasts the rap away. Once you think its all over, this 9 minute 128bpm house record, lightens up with a female vocal and an optimistic piano riff. I hardly got to hear the last part because most Djs played only the first 5 minutes. I think alot of imagination went into this tune and many like it, during the mid 90s. If you were to listen to it 2 minutes in, then skip up to 7 minutes you wouldnt think it was the same tune.
Diva Rhythms - Volume One - 18-Aug-06 09:22 PM
This Balearic sounding house record with its claps and bongo drums, delivers a high energy vibe, along side some very hedonistic rap style vocal stabs. The piano riffs, make this tune a baleric house club anthem.
