Third Shock, The - Kindly Dad - 10-Jul-04 02:50 PM
This was the 2nd release on Beaumont Hannant and Richard Brown's short lived Mutant Disco label.
The Third Shock hail form Northern Island. This three tracker is very well produced and worth checking out 'kindly dad' is an electronic breakbeat driven jam with some weird vocal samples looped around the track and some nice synth work, 'eye contact'is more of an acidic-ish breakbeat affair with slightly darker overtones than the A side and 'pigeons' is slower, dark sounding dub number.

Various - Belgrade Coffee Shop - 18-Aug-03 09:17 AM
SERBIA 2000,navel of the Balkans, troubled underbelly of europe,a new breed of musical otherness coming through.....Belgrade's radio b-92 and freeb92 label present the selection of 12 exclusive tracks from some of the most talented artists on the electronic music scene.
100% adrenaline free collection of tunes from the place where apathy meets devastation........
every single one of the 12 tracks on this collection is loaded with depth and soul and not a bad one among them, worth buying for Tegets Slow Motion Helicopter alone, moments of beauty from a place that has seen sour times.

Tomas - Mindsongs - 08-Jul-03 11:56 AM
Head straight to track 1 "mind song" deep moody baseline twixed with nice strings and creepy "going out of mind "vocal sample, made in 1991 and still sounds ace.Classic warp release.

Various - Jack Trax - The Third Album - 05-May-03 08:08 AM
For many people (including myself)the jack trax comps were a good introduction to the House/techno scene. For about £8/9 you got a lot for your money. That was good for me at the time because i was only about 14 and imports were expensive. This Jack Trax Release is in my opinion the best beacause it contains one of my all time favourite tracks Distant Planet by Fingers ink a very moody and haunting, standout tracks also included are OFF TO BATTLE MODEL 500 and RISQUE MADNES by RISQUE III seek out and buy a slice of history.
