Exile* - Spanner In The Worx / King Shredda - 04-Jul-09 07:51 AM
An absolutely sublime piece of vinyl. 2 tracks, very technical, very funky and both good to listen to and also hit hard if you play it in the club. Exile usually comes with a lot of tracks which can be called left of centre but if you like your stuff down the line but with an original twist check this 12" where you can. Definitely love on the ears. Its full of twisted drill sounds and the drums contain a lot of bongos, the bass is heavy but does not drown the complex sounds around it. Kind of musical but not very musical. Its electronic without a doubt but you really cannot tell. Probably for me the closest you can get to a perfect record
Mistabishi - Greed / Lean - 17-Dec-08 01:22 PM
A Jekyll & Hyde 12". The A side is a sublime piece of liquid with some hard hitting beats and nice atmospherics and the AA side is to be avoided at all costs. Now some of the half step tunes (Body Rock style) have come and become classics but this is a Frankenstein that seems to have lost the plot and fell apart at the seams. Now I have been told that this 12" will never be fully released and will be deleted after this promo run. A shame for the excellent A side and a relief for the dreadful reverse. So grab it if you can
