A very clever record, this is, and haunting, and verrrry listenable and danceable, naturally. Scandinavian rhythmic outburst at it's best, fresh and classical at the same time. In my head during a very hot July night or in the coldest, sharpest or most dull of November afternoons, it gives me a Dark Night Baobab Taxi Retreat. Pitch it or not, deep down traumatic production will occur - in my dysfunctional occupation of time and space and airs, anyway, yet again and again. Deep Respect Henrik.

Skinny Puppy - Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse - 26-Mar-09 01:12 PM
Allright…when this record turned up at my place, I fell in love with the cover and the weight of the vinyl immediately. And the number ”Bias 43” made me shivering, to say the least… When I first put this record on, I was troubled because of the rhythms and the lack of traditional recognition I expected from a Skinny Puppy release at the time. Today, more than twenty-two years have passed, and I’m still deeply in love with this album. I’ve listened to most musics since then and still; ”Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse” stands out to be the most naked and brutal record I’ve ever heard and - again somewhat troubled to admit - suspect I ever will hear. ”One Time One Place” is the perfect intro to anything you expect from anything and ”God’s Gift (Maggot)” makes you reborn, whatever you imagine of anythings. The perfect outro is ”Burnt With Water”, and if you don’t see why, I suggest you re-think why you’re reading this.

Car Skid And Crash - Toys Are Terrific - 27-Sep-08 04:44 PM
When this record turned up I was really surprised and felt very proud realizing that, yes! At last; Sweden is one of the numb sharp edge/fallen heavy angel/porn blood soul-music-producing nations! The mystic cover and format of the "Toys are terrific" release contained some of the most beautiful, speedy cut-up electronic funk soundtracks I had ever heard. Besides the "Drinking Gasoline" 2x12" and the "Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse" LP and "Dig it" 12" releases, this Car Skid And Crash 10" today stands out to be among the very best of the last century modernist musics. (And the soul that lies within this production, is very rare nowadays, I must say.) Quite simple, but at the same time very sharp, funky and nasty. Beaches, bosses, potatoes and Arizona - Respect!!!

Cabaret Voltaire - Drinking Gasoline - 14-Sep-08 05:58 AM
This release contains the very best of funk from Sheffield at the time and it still stands out as a magic, danceable, raw and very, very funky electronic masterpiece from the eighties. The speed and power in these beautiful (Neville Brody) vinyls is - in my estimation - breathtaking. I could play these four tracks at any club over and over again just for the big funk hell that they bring... All my respect to Kirk/Mallinder for bringing these rough landscapes to the world!

Harold Budd & Brian Eno - Ambient 2: The Plateaux Of Mirror - 29-Aug-08 03:56 PM
This is probably one of the most beautiful musics ever produced by man. It is cold and warm at the same time. It is both spring and autumn as well as endless deserts and endless waters. Track 2 was played on Swedish TV shortly after the horrible "Estonia"-catastrophy and, well, SVT couldn't have chosen a more suitable soundtrack. I recommend this album with all my heart and soul. This is music for births and deaths. My vinyl copy is getting somewhat outworn, though. But it doesn't really matter, because this music is too strong...
