Terry Lee Brown Junior* - From Dub Til Dawn - 03-Aug-01 02:40 PM
TLB Jr. fans won't be disappointed with this one. More of the same from Terry who comes with a dozen deep, grooving tech-house tunes, some with a more dubby vibe hence the title. His team-up with fellow Plastic City labelmate The Timewriter on "Take Your Time" fuses familiar sounds from the Timewriter album Jigsaw Pieces with a pumping TLB beat/bassline combination and sexy saxaphone snippets. This is sophisticated music for late night listening. From track 1 through to track 12 you're taken on a consistantly hypnotic ride that retains both a solid beat and a deep feel, but never goes off in a tempo that is either too slow nor too fast. Yet another perfect listening session courtesy of one of the best producers of all things deep and funky. Highly recommended.

Terry Lee Brown Jr. - Chocolate Chords - 03-Aug-01 02:40 PM
This is called "Chocolate Chords" with good reason: a 12-pack of deep, dark, sweet and delicious pieces of tech-house.

Terry Lee Brown Jr. -
With a name like Terry Lee Brown Jr. you might be led to believe that this artist was raised in the urban landscape of Chicago, where his mother played him funk and disco records while in his crib. His album covers just add to the image with a cartoon face that could be a caricature of Chris Rock wearing sunglasses. But in reality TLB Jr. is Norman Feller, a white guy from Germany. You may associate Germany with hard, cold, pounding techno, but the music of Norman Feller as TLB Jr. is funky, soulful while maintaining a healthy dose of dancefloor punch. Specializing in deep, chunky slices of house, Feller keeps the music full, lively and energetic without ever falling into cheesy fluff. Check out his recordings as Nor Elle for music that's more on the downtempo side, while still retaining his super-high level of production and musical quality.
