Go Martin Go Martin Go Martin, etc etc. Some very long tracks indeed, a scattering of beats all over the place, with deep IDM strings all over the back. My advice is listen to one track in a session, as the uniformity of it is hard to cope with, well, it was with my short attention span. Apart from that, a solid slice of IDM, nothing groundbreaking, certainly, but what there is is not bad.
Warp Records - 10-Jan-03 08:12 AM
Its fair to say Warp arent totally immune to crap releases, and there have been periods where their release schedule has been rather fallow, but they are the label that people who arent into electronic music turn to for their fix, its probably the most accessible label for this sort of music.

Blimey, how much experimental bad jazz can one man take? Such a mix of styles here, and some realy really heavy going too. The Melody Maker review said "by the time you get to CD 3, youve forgotten what normal pop music sounds like".
If youre feeling brave, listen to it all the way through, I dare you.
DJ Paedofiles? Get a life, man.
Various - Electric Ladyland Clickhop Version 1.0 - 10-Jan-03 07:52 AM
Theres simply too much of it. What there is is suprisingly varied, considering the perhaps limited scope of a click, having said that, the interpretation of click-hop is very loose in some cases. It all rather washes over you, although like other MP compilatins, it sounds great on headphones, as youre out and about, a good walking soundtrack.
DJ Hekla - Eruption 1970 / Akimbo / Gank2 - 10-Jan-03 07:48 AM
1997, a number that popped into my head as I listened to this one, what with its reliance on breakbeats and all that. Sort of Lunatic Harness-era U-Ziq, but a bit more loose. Hmm, bleh, passed me by rather, which I know is being a bit hard, but thats just how it grabbed me, or loosely touched my coat at least. Hey, it gets better.
