Korn - Korn - 20-Jun-06 01:03 PM
This was the beginning album that got Korn on the right track. Every song is excellent and it's what started the Nu-Metal genre. There isn't a dull moment during the entire cd. If you want to know what Korn is all about then pick up this album before you listen to the new stuff. It's perfect.

A Perfect Circle - eMOTIVe - 23-May-06 05:43 AM
As many know A Perfect Circle is a side project of TOOL. It has more of a rock sound to it, with some dark elements still being used similar to TOOL.

This album is amazing, it starts out sounding dark and painful but once you've listened to the cd you realize it is simply a masterpiece. True, these are all cover songs except for track one; but they are done so perfectly you can't help but love it. This whole cd holds you in listening to every sound and word being used the entire album.

Sonata Arctica - Silence - 02-Feb-06 09:47 PM
Sonata Arctica is an amazing band. They create a unique sound that is all their own. They are a mix between quick riffs and melodious sounds, with a hint of western progressive metal background. I enjoyed Silence all the way through since it leans toward great riffs, keyboard, and good vocals. If you like Dream Theater, Symphony X or any other prog. metal bands then you will definitely enjoy this.

Dream Theater - Octavarium - 30-Jan-06 11:05 PM
If you haven't heard anything by Dream Theater then this is definitely a great starter album, with all of their melodies blending so well together in their last couple of cd's. They have a style all their own that no band has matched in skill or variety of music to date. With John Petrucci on guitar and Mike Portnoy on drums, their isn't a better duo in music. This style of music is Progressive Metal, but has lighter tracks on this album. My all time favorite above all is Scenes From a Memory, which showcases solos for everyone and tells a story as you listen through the whole cd.
