Dustin Zahn - A Sleepless Malice EP - 12-Jun-06 06:23 AM
A1 is a rolling workhorse. It demonstrates just how progressive techno can be. Very methodical use of breakdowns, smart percussion & tastey samples make this one of his most refined releases to date.
Hardcell & Grindvik* - Gainlane: Live Techniques - 15-Oct-05 05:23 AM
This is an amazing display of Techno, of the highest quality. It seems to me that Pär & Nils sequenced/mixed their Gainline material in Ableton Live. I have duplicate copies of Gainline 1-5 on vinyl and enjoy the hell out mixing them all together. Great Work!!!
Dave Clarke - World Service 2 - 26-Jun-05 01:27 PM
World Service 2 picks up exactly where the first one left off, (Part 1 ended with Electro/Part 2 starts with Electro). On this installment however, Dave really unloads his turntable talents. He scratches, samples, back spins, delays, filters & chops with surgical precision. His track selection is once again TOP NOTCH: always bringing new, under rated talent into the light. He really does a brilliant job of pairing dirty & sexy electro clash with dark & cerebral electro. As the Techno mix begins you get an older, but very tasty intro to a seriously jackin’ assault on the booty. PLAY IT LOUD WIT DA BASS UP!!!
This double cd has not left my car player for 9 straight days. I cannot get enough of it! I remember when I first was seduced by Techno: it was a live mix by Dave Clarke. As he cut, chopped, tweaked & freaked the unforgettable choice records...I had realized that all other forms of music I owned were pointless. Dave Clarke causes listeners to question what’s “popular” by pushing boundaries & unleashing risky new material.
Henrik B - Bullet In The Bed - 27-May-05 09:43 PM
From my understanding Bullet In The Bed is mastered/cut in Mono. I believe this is why most listeners tend to freak out over the track. It is a gem of Techno work, not sure if it would be any more better if it were in Stereo, but queing in Mono can lead to some difficulties in mixing perhaps. None the less Henrik B continues to reign as one of the top men in Techno.
Vadz - Pisdez - 09-Feb-05 02:28 AM
...a tasty bit of dirty techno...Vadz is really starting to show off his lust for fucked up grooves with snarling synthlines. I prefer the B-side myself, but both are just as alerting and captivating. I urge those who are interested in intelligent, aggressive and dark techno to check this release out. It will leave a splinter in your ass :-)
