Reviews & Discussion:
Excellent lp in my opinion. Dan Hartman did an outstanding job as a producer; he gave the album a fresh and (synthesized)funk feeling. Besides this, the songs are catchy and a lot of well-known artists and musicians made their contributions. The Prince written 'Baby Go-Go' is also well worth checking out.
Tom Moulton did an extraordinairy job on this classic from Sylvester from the late 70's/begin 80's. This sounds so different when comparing with the original mix. More bass, cripsy clear shakers, hard percussion. It's hardly a disco track anymore. Yes, it has a 4/4 backbeat but it's purely a cohesion between funk & gospel (notice the background choir). And that bass ! You can't sit on your chair when hearing this mix. 10 outta 5, no doubt about it. Grab it while u can.
One of the best 'Junior Boy's Own'-records for quite a while; mad beats, some original fx and funky synth-stabs. Both sides are very playable and will be in my recordbox for a long time. With this release Paul Woolford shows us why he's the man at the moment. And besides that: this is a very welcome return of one of the finest House-labels from the U.K.
This is really a great album. Although I think it's more a collection of outtakes, it's full with raw beats, infectious grooves and freestyle raps. The Neptunes produced this gem with the same attitude as with Eclipse's "Grindin", so it's streetfunk all over.'VA Banga' is a Skillz rap over the backbeat of Rosco P. Coldchain's "Hot". 'Grindin' freestyle' is just what the title says: it's a superb freestyle rap over the backbeat of "Grindin". And 'Ladies & Gentlemen' uses Justin Timberlake's "Senorita" in full effect. The versions are short (I guess about 3 minutes each), but it's really worth to score this lp. I was lucky to pick it up in a Hip Hop recordstore, haven't seen it yet since ... Buy !

Listening to this record gives u a insight from where the "real" House comes from: the black community in the USA. This classic remix provided by Frankie Knuckles is one of his best ever in my humble opinion. This one is absolutely incredible: the slow & long dramatic intro with only the grand piano playing and Ann Nesby providing the vocals, the beats which are oh so funky & groovin' and the total structure of the remix makes it so.This all combined with a really strong song (original production provided by Jam & Lewis) and those heaven-sent gospel-vocals makes me aware that House is a spiritual thing. Timeless masterpiece of REAL music: 10 outta 10.

A must have record for all House/Acid/Techno-fans. This record has been recently released and it includes some very hard to find classics. It is mastered very carefully and powerfull: it sounds actually better than the originals. This will be in my recordbox for a long time !

Hypnotic record. It is build around an old Funk or Disco loop (?), been filtered heavily and there have been added some drums to "fatten" it up. Gerd once again proved that he's the man at the moment in so many genres, whether it's his breakbeat/funk/downtempo remixes or his Techno outputs on sister-label "Fortek".

Masterpiece ! No doubt about it. This cd contains beautifull drum 'n bass tracks, hypnotising downtempo tracks and some poppy tracks. Great producing and mixing: every detail is carefully crafted. Give this album a listen and it grabs you while u're getting deeper and deeper into the music... 10 outta 10.
