SWEET! very chill deep tech house groove with a bit of urban flavor. A male vocal sample boasts the urban feel by letting you know this is "for all the people out there!, CHECK IT OUT!"

Flip for a tougher tech house beat with the vocals dubbed out with reverb and echoes, and then the sound Bwoy remix gives it a tough raspy ragga house bassline - think Jay Tripwire or DJ Ali style ragga tech house and you've got it!
Armand Van Helden and his long time producer Neil Petricone on this mysterious 12" teaming up for a wicked filtered out tech house romp that sounds like the theme from Green Acres on crack meets "cotton eye joe". Yes, a massive hoe-down tune for the dancefloor. Would fit nicely into a pumpin tech house/french filter house/daft punk electro type of set.
sweet tribal tech house beats on one side, and the other side features more funky deep tribal/deep tech percussion fused with some haunting vocal samples and some really sexy deep lush beautiful pads. This is going to be an all-time favorite for me!
Taken from the "simple needs" EP, this track gets a full rework treatment to satisfy the needs of most any house DJ, with deep house, deep tech and tech house re-rubs...

The Broken Home remix is nice and deep, just different enough from the original to give it some extra flavor and unique touches. The Spettro and Thomas Sahs remix is the one for me. Everyone that hears it is like "ooooo that bass!" Really rockin bassline so dope that I fear I will need an extra copy - been playing it so much the needle is gonna wear right through the vinyl! ;) combined with the chunky tough beats this is a great transition track to go from deeper stuff into a bit tougher techier track. A+
Awesome Morgan Page remixes. Deep techy house with some real thump thump and sweet keys. Steve Porter is always on point on the darker, more progressive tip. Great use of sampled Norah Jones vocals here (you were wondering why that voice sounded so familiar?)
Great deep vocal house here. Typical west coast style deepness, but the Charles Webster remix adds some tougher drums and techier sounds for a really great mix. The vocals are used more sparingly on this remix.
This is one of the best house EP's I have gotten my hands on in a while. Tech house and deep tech house here, all 3 cuts are equally superb. "smoke S'more" is a deep groovy cut that features a hip hop vocal weaving in and out of the first few minutes with flange effects until it fully engages towards the middle of the track. In typical hip-hop style the rapper talks about how "I wanna smoke s'more", but this cut is by no means cheesy. Microdot is a great tech house cut with plenty of dubby samples and effects, and a big rolling bassline similar to a Jay Tripwire cut. The second mix of Microdot features some sexy female vocals talking about going to the club just to watch a guy dance... very sexy and this mix is really techy and really DEEP!
Naked Music Recordings Feb 18, 2004
Yes, Naked had gotten into a rut with tracks that seem to follow the "formula"... But now the last several releases show Naked going in a new direction. The music is still deep and groovy, but features more of a variety of sounds and styles, even going into a techy vibe on some releases. Starting with the "lost on arrival" compilations, you will notice some new innovative sounds and remixes from newcomers and from talent that aren't so new but are new to this label.
Hipp-E - Rastaman Feb 18, 2004
Another solid deep tech EP from the West coast maestro, Hipp-E. Butta is the smooth slice of deep house that has caught my attention here, with warm deep stabs. Flip over for Rastaman, and you'll be treated to a deep tech cut riddled with dubbed out samples of a raggamuffin style vocal, sound quite a bit like it could be a track on Miguel Mig's "dubplate sessions". Very west coast, and would appeal to fans of that deep dubbed out tech house style.
The Brett Johnson afterthought mix is the big winner for me on this bumpin tech house EP. Some of the craziest sampling I've heard - wild squeals and squelches and robotic sounds frolic playfully over a classic thumpin house kick. SICK!
