Atari Teenage Riot - The Future Of War - 19-Sep-04 08:11 PM
On March 28, 2002, five years after it's initial release, this record was put on the index by the Bundesprüfstelle für Jugendgefährdende Medien (BPjM), the German government institution that 'protects' the youth against 'bad influences'. In other words: it is forbidden to sell this cd in Germany. The idea to index this album came from the Bayerische Landesjugendamt (bureau of youth affairs of Bayern). The decisive track was 'Deutschland (Has Gotta Die!)'. It is, according to the BL, 'anticonstitutional'.
Jam & Spoon - Tales From A Danceographic Ocean - 06-Sep-04 12:01 AM
On 'Stella', Jam & Spoon sample the beats of Moby's 'Go'. They also did remixes of 'Go', and Moby did remixes of 'Stella'.
The EP title 'Tales From A Danceographic Ocean' is a reference to the progressive rock album 'Tales from Topographic Oceans' by Yes (1974).
Ec8or - Spex Is A Fat Bitch! - 08-Aug-04 10:35 PM
'Spex Is A Fat Bitch' is a diss to the german alternative music magazine Spex, which became more and more commercial. Spex even started cooperating with MTV.
Some Bizzare - 01-Apr-04 04:11 PM
This label ripped off and continues to rip off Einsturzende Neubauten and other artists. So says Blixa Bargeld, EN frontman. If you want to support EN, buy the re-issues of these cd's on the Potomak label. Otherwise EN won't receive a cent/penny/etc. And the Potomak cd's are remastered: better audio quality.
