M & M (5) - Get Off Your Butt - 16-Feb-08 08:00 AM
This is one of the lesser known DJ PIERRE Acid releases... with the rap on it, it reminds a bit of Kool Rock Steadys "Dance or Die". The Sleeve State "Trax Records", but as far as i know it was never released on Trax Records on 12", only on the "Rap Trax" Sampler (and some other Various Artist Lps too). Samples on this Record were taken from Kraze - The Party and Inner City - Good Life.

QX-1 - On A Journey - 16-Apr-07 01:29 PM
Unbelievable Classic 12". Work That MF is the shit, but my fave is "i Wont Hurt U". Uses a disco Sample on a very unique and hyptnotic way, and the Kraftwerk Sample brings it to the point. I remember when it came out in 1991, i was 17years old and was entering the Record shop 1 or 2 times (only) per month... always in search of Chicago house, so when i found this, saw the Label design, and "Produced by Mike dunn" i ask the Record Shop owner, if this is something from Dj International (which i was collecting at that time), he say: no, it isnt. I ask to have a listen, but he wanted to close for that day and say: No, this record is nothing for you, sorry. but i ask 2 or 3 times more and he say: ok, but please short only. What should i say. After 15 Seconds i stopped and asked why he think that this is nothing for me. This is defenetly EXACT the shit i want. Now, 16years later this record is STILL kicking me.

The "Dance Mix" of "Fade To Grey" is an absolute masterpiece. The same Vocals and Synths like on the well known original, but a much more "modern" druming and a fully inspired new arrangement makes this version to an unbelievable track. Rocks Hard. And also to mentioned is the "Dance Mix" of "Frequency 7", which can be mixed up perfectly with "Positron Island" by Drexciya...Fits like it was made by the same Aliens from Planet X.

House Nation - House Nation - 09-Aug-06 12:17 AM
There are alot cover versions of "House Nation" by "The House Master Boyz And The Rude Boy Of House". Usually, Coverversions, especialy of house tracks, are not so good as the original versions. I have no idea who did this version on Clockwork. It sounds very similar to the original version on Dance Mania..but i cant help myself.. there is something that make love this version more than the original. Maybe its only the other mastering or whatever.Since i have this, i never played the Dance Mania again and have been sold all other pressings i had (bcm ect.)

Various - Chicago: 1999, Future House Society Vol. 2 - 29-Jun-06 08:44 AM
The biggest surprise on this Album is the Fast Eddie mix of Tyrees "Turn up the Bass". While Fast Eddie was responible for the famous "Scratch the Bass" mix in 1988, it was maybe hard to Remix this again, especialy to the same time some cheap and crappy commercial remixes of "turn up the Bass" were released on Sony Music. Fast Eddie was at that time very active in the Chicago Booty/Ghetto House scene, so i expeted nothing from this Mix. But what a surprise: he dont uses the Rap Of the original, only the phrase "Turn up the Bass" and create a real deep and cool Wild Pitch alike song. And his track "Encore" is also deep, the other Tyree track on it had also a lot soul. When i was purchasing this LP, i had the hope the old spirit of Chicago has come back. It wasnt so, it was only that short time in the summer of 1999...
