Profile: What I love :
Most electronic music, as long as it's not downtempo (no modern classical please !!!), in particular euro dance. Also, I'm a huge Rexanthony fan. :-)
What I cannot stand :
Any kind of music which falls into the "rock" category, especially when there is the word "metal" in it.
All soundtracks from movies and videogames. (NO exception... I hate them all).
Don't complain because I don't like that... I have my own taste and everyone has. Those who claim to be "critic" about what they listen to are wrong.

Rexanthony - Capturing Matrix (2003 Hard Remixes) May 29, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
Radical changes from the original versions ! Those were very soft and melodic, and the first 2003 remixes were also soft.
But these 2 new remixes are completely different. Surprisingly, while the original mixes remain my favourites, when it comes to the 2003 remixes I like these hard remixes better than the softer ones on the previous vinyl.

Two versions :

The Dancefloor mix is my favourite of the 2. It starts with a hard bassline and sort of acid loops. Then at 2:30 a breakdown comes, taking the melody from the Technochoir Remix 2003 (which was on the other remixes vinyl) pitched down. It lasts for more than 1 minute, then the loops come again before giving room again for the brakdown at 5:50, and then the track finishes with some weird effects.

The Hardstyle mix is, well, hardstyle. No more breakdown, hard bassline throughought the whole track. Although I prefer the other version, I know that most hard trance fans will prefer this one.

Recommended !
Manau - Panique Celtique Sep 01, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
The fact that the charts are a real joke has been proved years before the Crazy Frog time. (I'm partly quoting a comment about Crazy Frog here.) And this album is one of these proofs. Personally, I absolutely can't stand this album because of these terribly annoying Celtic instruments (I'll tell you, when it comes to music I can't listen to anything "celtic" unless it is a bodhran solo), but this is nothing else than my simple opinion. But honestly, today, would you see a MAJORITY of 12-year old people listening to that kind of music ? I really doubt it.

The track "La Tribu De Dana" was the 2nd best sold single in France of the year (ouch !) and it even managed to get into the first place in the French clubs. Yes, in the CLUBS, you read it properly. Thanksfully for only one week, but some other weeks it was in the top 10 as well. Do you honestly imagine some people dancing to that in the clubs ? Personally I wonder how they did.
Since the entire album is in the same style, it's not surprising to know that it also was one of the most sold albums of 1998 in France. So much that one of the members of my family bought it... that means I OWN it actually... I'm so ashamed that I won't put it on my Discogs collection. Of course no ones listens to it anymore (and that's a good thing.)

I also remember some people listening to "Mais Qui Est La Belette ?" (bad memories for me, indeed), and singing the chorus everytime it came. They loved the track of course. But the thing is that this track is actually a half-cover of a track called "La jument de Michao" by Tri-Yann (I don't like it at all also) realeased in the late seventies. And once I tried a little experience : I made them listen to the original Tri-Yann track (it required a lot of efforts from me believe me). Not only they didn't like i, they thought it was a cover of the Manau track, while it's the contrary.

The final word is that this album proves that with the radio you can make the 12-year old people like anything. Really anything. Just put it on the radio, play it once every 30 minutes and that's it.
It's that bad really. Why can't these people find their favourite music style and listen to what they like ?
Aqua - Aquarium Jul 06, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
Undoubtly the most famous album in the "bubble gum" genre, and this album is usually either loved or hated, at least the beginning.
Actually I like it, mainly because of the Johnny Jam & Delgado sound, who produced several other tracks for other projects (they even produced some Ace Of Base tracks on the "Flowers" album), and they are among my favourite dance music producers. But those voices (especially Lene's high pitched voice) makes it horribly annoying sometimes, and also very childish, because actually the simple lyrics can be found on a lot of other eurodance releases. That's why I almost never listen to it without headphones, and probably also why some people hate it.
Overall it's a pretty good album, but there are so much better bubble gum albums without annoying voices available... such as Daze's "Super Heroes" (also Johnny Jam/Delgado production), Bambee's "Fairytales", Caramell's "Gott Och Blandat" and "Supergott" (my favourites !) and Crispy's "The Game".
Technotronic - Recall Oct 31, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Third Technotronic album (without counting remixes and best-of albums), this is the eurodance album released by this project. I have to say that I was really pleased to hear a very good album without any track that I really don't like, well this is eurodance at its finest, although 2 of the 3 instrumentals (NRG Flow and Club Thang) seem like remixes of the title track. Move It To The Rhythm is the most well-known track here and it is a standout, but other tracks such as Recall, Saving All Your Love, I Want You By My Side, Are You Ready and Can't Live Without You are in the same style and just as good. Note that the version of I Want You By My Side on this album is completely different of the so-called "Cool" Radio Mix (on the single released later in the beginning of 1996), and this album version is actually a lot more "cool" than the (bad) single version ; actually I suggest you to get this album and to forget the singles, if you have the album you won't get anything else by getting the singles since "Recall" has a radio version (almost same as album version, just a little shorter) and 4 other mixes which are much weaker, and "I Want You By My Side" has a lot weaker mixes than the album version, the best and only good one is on the album. Highly recommended for eurodance lovers !
Mr. President - Night Club May 27, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
I love commercial eurodance music. That's the reason why I rated this record 2/5. There are 2 great tracks - "Happy People", which is an excellent euro-reggae track in the style of the most well-known "Coco Jamboo", and "I Wanna Give My Love To You", a typical Mr. President eurodance track - one nice track "JoJo Action", but the rest is just... bad. Either the tracks sound dated ("Inline-Outline"), or are too heavy club tracks ("Hasta MaƱana). Believe me, this one is not worth it... If you want good dance music, look for their other albums, not this one.
Einstein Doctor Deejay* - Back From Galactika May 18, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Three completely different mixes on this 12''. the "Far From Earth Mix" is a fast version, but not "hard", it's a good mixture between eurodance, trance, and happy hardcore music. "Automatik Mix" is the slowest of the 3, more eurodance than trance, it is my personal favourite. The last one "Mururoa Mix" is a hardcore mix, didn't like this one but some of you will probably enjoy it. To sum up, a nice release for those who don't mind if it's commercial music or not, and who like eurodance/trance.
Loft - Wake The World Dec 20, 2004 (edited over 5 years ago)
A very good debut album for the project Loft. "Summer Summer", a great euro-reggae track, is my personal favourite from this album. In the same style you also have the "Theme Of Loft", which is also good, even if not as good as "Summer Summer". "Wake The World", "Love Is Magic", "Hold On", "Live It Up" are great dance tracks. "Mad", "L.ive O.ur F.ather's T.eaching", "Missing You" are also pretty good. The track "King Of The World" is average, but the rest is great. If you like dance music, check it out.
Tokyo Ghetto Pussy - Disco 2001 Aug 03, 2004 (edited over 5 years ago)
This CD is really good!! Tokyo Ghetto Pussy is in my opinion the best project that Jam & Spoon have ever produced. My favourite tracks on this CD are "I Kiss Your Lips", "To Another Galaxy" and "Love Generation", the 3 happy hardcore tracks. But I also like the rest of the CD, including the hit "Everybody On The Floor", the more eurodance oriented "I Want You" or even the hard "Hit Me Harder".
So, as I said, an excellent CD ;)
T-Spoon Aug 03, 2004 (edited over 5 years ago)
T-Spoon is a group that does many music styles. Eurodance, happy hardcore, house, euro-reggae, rock, r&b, and more. You probably know them with their huge hit "Sex On The Beach" released in 1997 but they existed since 1993 when they released their first single "No Time 2 Waste" which was succesful especially in Holland, and it wasn't until they released "Sex On The Beach" that they had their success worldwide. They have made some nice tunes, so check them out :-)
Snap! - Rhythm Is A Dancer Jul 03, 2004 (edited over 5 years ago)
C-L-A-S-S-I-C!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is one of the first eurodance songs that have been released (If not THE first!). Maybe the biggest eurodance hit. Personally I don't know what to say, since you surely know this song. Anyway it's great.
