Orb, The - Kompassion Mar 13, 2003
Another big name release from Kompakt comes from the prolific duo of The Orb. The Orb's new sound is out of character, but typical for a Kompact release, being more mid-tempo than there usual ambient textures.
This might be Reinhard’s best release from his short but prolific career. This is straight dance floor stuff – straight up 4/4 kicks, massive synth lines – a great release from a producer on the rise.

One of, if not the most notorious German labels. Extremely prolific, but always consistent; the sound varies – everything from ambient to acid to hard techno.
M.Mayer* - Speaker Mar 11, 2003
Proving M. Mayer has no interest in being stylistic, this record really shows a producer at the top of his career. The A side is a dark 4/4 paced beat, filled with ‘classic’ acid lines and deep vocals; it truly recreates the brilliance of the classic acid tracks from the past. The B side, while not as impressive, gives more of typical Mayer ‘thump’ track.
Villalobos* - Halma Mar 11, 2003
There isn’t enough room to give this record the credit it deserves. To put it simply, the A side track is filled with wonderful minimal beats laced with lush vocals. The B side features the same minimal goodness as the A side, but more of an emphasize on glitch.
One of the many ‘classic’ Kompakt releases in my opinion.

The sound falls somewhere in between the minimal techno and ambient side of Kompakt. Both A side tracks have incredible vocals. This is a must for any Kompakt lover.
Borderline ‘avant-garde’ classic

Not quite techno, not quite noise – somewhere nice in between.

The B side is more of a typical Wolfgang ‘thumping’ track.
