Yep. If you grew up in the US looking for "rave" music this is without a doubt the the first "rave" compilation you laid your hands on. It just seemed to be widely available. At the time they'de have that one small section at the record store..."Dance/Electronic" or whatever and they'de have about 30 tapes or so. This one just stuck out. I have very fond memories of this tape (wow it was that long ago - got i ton a tape!) Some of the songs are on the "cheesier" side but nonetheless what a great introduction to techno music at the time. The stuff on this compilation was the sort of stuff they'de play at the early raves at the shrine auditorium in LA (where I ended up going to school...things really took off in the mid 90's when they started playing the oakenfold style perfecto fluoro type stuff at the raves..talk about fond memories!). If I recall the label for this compilation was actually threatened with a lawsuit becuase of the language and samples used in the first song (copyright). Hence, there are two versions of this compilation....I still think about this compilation from time to time...not sure how it made the impact it did.
